I’m not going to be a parent, but seeing my parents work tirelessly so we can go to school makes me realize how hard it is to be one. . I did kind of empathize with Chizu’s mother though, but only for a little bit: staying at home alone being a mother, relying only on the husband financially and feeling helpless sometimes does take a toll on you. It could possibly be that she also had trauma related to childbirth?? We don’t know. But still, what she did was wrong. What happened with the “for richer and for poorer” vows? . But tbh, she was kind of stupid: with her new husband, she still at home, taking care of a kid, doing house chores. What’s the difference from her life now compared to this new one? It seems to me that she is financially insecure, and it’s too much for her that she’s willing to leave her *own* daughter to marry someone and take care of someone else’s kid, just to escape. I mean there’s nothing wrong with stepchildren but that’s how I look at it. She doesn’t deserve Naoki. Good riddance I guess( ̄へ ̄)
