Battle of honor might have to do with either the grandma showing up or calling this “show down” a battle of protecting honor. The letters can prove that shuli’s original evidence is correct and not forged. How I’m lost is that I can’t exactly connect everything to make sense? And I may be wrong, I didn’t double check.

She's trying to give the position of head of the household to Jeremy by calling her marriage to the duke into question. I don't think we know what the evidence is of yet.

I think the battle of honor is a fallback plan if her plan doesn't succeed, that knight guy with her will have to defend the family's honor in a fight as their representative.

The moment Jeremy gains the title. Of head of family(shuli giving up her seat), he is entitled a battle of honour, which in traditional sense, was a battle that allowed a convicted person to pardon himself of a crime by fighting

As for the letters, they're more to provd that the marriage was for political reasons instead of love, as the cardinal disallows divorced(based on history), it's wgy they were enraged when schuli t ried to call the engagement off
