But that's the thing. We all know dub-con elements is a major trope in asian romance entertainment, bc the stereotypical alpha male is by far a preference by the general audience and authors. Yaoi, BL, shoujo, you name it. It doesn't even have to be explicit content, PG-13 rated stories also feature stereotypical forceful male leads who pin someone against a wall for romantic effect and the female lead/uke secretly loves it (kabedon style). It's a kink/fetish/fantasy/preference of the author, NOT intended rape. The authors aren't writing their stories intending for one character to rape another, and that's important to remember simply bc you're never gonna be satisfied with the direction of the story if you keep interpreting it as such. It's not a kink for everyone, and that's fine, but there's nothing wrong with the author having said kinks and writing a story that features them. They can write what they want.

I don't have anything against purely smut stories with rape but it gets tricky when the story has actual plot and sexual assaults, abuse and even rapes are belittled and brushed off as not a big deal.

Sorry but after reading so many opinions of actual adults I'm not even sure if atuhors themselves are educated in that matter and fully recognize what sexual assault, abuse is.

We have many stories with brutal rape scenes where victim is even bleeding, screaming bloody murder, crying, begging to stop... But then few chapters later they are all lovey dovey with their abuser... So I wouldn't be so sure about "not intended rape".

But tbh is "not intended rape". Rape's definition is really SIMPLE.
Then they have to be really ignorant if author doesn't understand that the scene when one party didn't give consent and is saying stop or no and shrugging.

It's actually not really simple when it comes to storytelling, hence why a whole dub-con label was invented. You can express your opinion on the story, but I'm just telling you it's stupid to use real-life logic on a story and then get mad over the MC "getting raped by the main seme", then the MC himself doesn't even think of any of their sex as non-consensual. You're legit only setting yourself up by doing that and will never be satisfied with the direction the story goes in. Better to just drop the story if one can't accept the author's visions and intentions.

And you are mixing few things. Yes author can create completely different world but she has to explain its rules and how it differs from ours because if author doesn't do that then readers obviously look at the story through real-life pov and standards.
And as I said even when rape is portrayed as brutal one, still the victims act as if nothing happened... It's just tasteless for some of us, it ridicules abuse and impact of the rape.

Rape is either used by them as cheap and idiotic plot device which fasten things between characters instead of writing the whole process in its normal pace or used as kinky scene... But it destroys the story for many of us because it just looks absurdly idiotic.
No one forbids author to write whatever they want but still we can express our opinion on that.
