To be fair the Duke is purposefully playing into his father's misconception that he's gay and in love with his male servant.
Plus it's been stated that Chloe's perceived as androgenous, and a lot of people are gossiping about her being the duke's loverboy, so among the general confusion plus her close friend's recent coming out, I'd say that it's a understandable assumption to make
Plus, (a bit unrelated) this series seems to touch quite a bit on homosexuality for a 'straight' shoujo, and for me it comes off as quite refreshing!
Trigger was my #1 candidate for the Second ML, and his character's progression felt like a really cool twist to me. :)
Maybe Trigger will be the fake 2nd ML... where the duke will increasingly get jealous her attention is on her best friend whom he has no idea is actually gay. Well, either way, I'm kind of glad Trigger is gay and won't suffer actual 2nd ML tragedy... too many of that in other stories already.
Ok but I seriously hate how fls always assume “ :o he doesn’t like girls, he must be gay” or “ :o he doesn’t like girls, he must have erectile dysfunction” like wtf is wrong with them. Idk it always pisses me off
