In earlier chapters she mentions that she only knows how to sing church songs(hymns?) ,I think, and since many people there don’t like church songs they often insult the person singing them. I don’t really quite remember but I think that’s the gist of it.
It’s actually the opposite. She only knows how to sing folk songs and doesn’t like hymns because it is related to the church. Nobles usually sing hymns and folk songs aren’t viewed positively by the nobles or the church that’s why she doesn’t like to sing in front of others except her family

I'm not sure if I'm just not remembering because they probably explained it but what's the problem with the song she sings? Or are they only allowed to sing chants.
