The manga moves a lot faster in the novel we’re in around chapter 20. Honestly recommend you read that first there’s a lot more going on.

I do recommend you skip the first chapter though. It goes into a lot of detail about the abuse Chika experienced. I recommend you start at chapter 2 because that’s when the actual story starts.
