Man, I can't say I entirely dislike the direction the story is headed, more just worried about it... Having an accomplished FL that is diligent and smart I was hoping the main drive of her story would be herself. But it looks like the author is going for the direction where she can't have her own agency without a man. I don't entirely dislike it because it isn't like she hasn't tried on her own without the jerk closing doors on her face. And we haven't scene how exactly she rises back up in the engagement with the ML, which leaves me worried that the story will fall into similar pitfalls of proving you need a relationship with a man to have agency as a women. The art feels refreshing and cute, the ML is meh so far, and I expect great things from the FL. So, I hope the story unravels a fun and enjoyable plot.
I didn't get why I felt so weird and frustrated at the backstory with Ian until going through everyone's comments so far. After rereading the last chapters of the present timeline, now I can finally articulate it. There was no conclusion to Ian's insecurity or worries, the heightening tensions that Sol did nothing to address or refused to acknowledge Ian as an individual who can handle information.
Reincarnation or not, Brian and Ian feel like two SEPARATE characters reading it so watching a love story of a creation of a nation where Ian is stranded in where no one is willing to be honest with him is a stressing reading experience.
AND the flashback still does NOT feel like it's going to end anytime soon, even though it has feels like a millennia already. There's too many unanswered questions on how where at the current tensions between the nations.
Hell, I don't even like the how his name "Ian" technically feels like a ripoff of the name "Brian" whether we like it or not the story is pushing for over 30 CHAPTERS how Ian is a shadow of what Brian was, someone who can't handle Sol being forthright with, can't solve his own problems, can't be his own person.
Every update keeps drilling in the fact that as a individuals close to Yoshino, Shouma is leaps and bounds better than Kirishima. Tho I have a feeling kirishima mainly referred to Yoshino as an object/prize to infuriate Shouma, I wouldn't push it past him that he somewhat believes that. Shouma actually treats her like an autonomous person (maybe that's why y'all think their chemistry is "boring") whilst Kirishima is continually surprised every time Yoshino exceeds his expectation of her and takes control of the situation. Her being able to do so proves she is her own person outside of manipulation or character Kirishima is usually surrounded by. Romantically, I think we can all agree already that she deserves a better person living a fulfilling life out of the yakuza like she wants

Every time I come back to check the newest chapter, it just keeps getting worse (not the writing, the actual things happening to the characters)
it will keep getting worse, i used to check the raws and the non-face people keep getting creepy and creepy. and seriously this is so scary.
