This manhwa didn't do a good job of portraying MC's character. The novel did.
MC is depressed. Childhood abuse, unhappy adult, and now he was forced to enter a book story. He has no capability to have a proper mind.
I HEAVILY disagree, mind you we're only on chapter 32 of the webtoon and the novel is completed (I believe) so its not even a fair comparison lol, the webtoon is doing a great job in showing the readers the world the Mc is in through the Mc's eyes (and we have to remember the mc is unrelliable in more ways than one) Just cause everything isn't laid out bare for you doesn't mean it isn't doing a good job. The Mc is incredibly naive and has to rely on fragments of his memories to get through on what he, and the readers are led to belive, is the world of a novel. Just as the op said he only believes what he wants to belive and has zero ability to contexualize or express things clearly which can leads readers to develop bias because once again we're experiencing the world through the MC.
