I HEAVILY disagree, mind you we're only on chapter 32 of the webtoon and the novel is completed (I believe) so its not even a fair comparison lol, the webtoon is doing a great job in showing the readers the world the Mc is in through the Mc's eyes (and we have to remember the mc is unrelliable in more ways than one) Just cause everything isn't laid out bare for you doesn't mean it isn't doing a good job. The Mc is incredibly naive and has to rely on fragments of his memories to get through on what he, and the readers are led to belive, is the world of a novel. Just as the op said he only believes what he wants to belive and has zero ability to contexualize or express things clearly which can leads readers to develop bias because once again we're experiencing the world through the MC.
the ml is getting progressively more cringe each chapter. sure being unhinged is part of his chara but there are many unhinged charas who don't resort to rape lmf at this point he just seems like an overeager dog in heat who'd never gotten laid before than someone cool and deranged.

honestly, i think i would be more ok if this was a switch situation but unfortunately it isn't. i just personally don't see him as a bottom and i think he would have been a cute top to someone who he finds genuine interest in.
that said, i get the direction the author is wanting to take with these two so i'm expecting it to be pretty toxic and uno prob wouldn't fit that mark as well as lorenzo.
