I'm actually happy that the merchant guy is the ml. Y'all have been too chronically on wattpad bc the priest is so obsessive and if she got w him she'd be trapped for life. She clearly doesn't like the church... and the prince may be cute sometimes but aint no way she wants to live that royal crazy drama life. The prince is less obsessive than the priest but he's still not the best character. The merchant guy is the only one who's future lines up with what she wants (she just wants to escape to a peaceful life) and who actually takes the time to get to know her slowly and has good character. The 'black hair cold dukes' don't really even apply here cause he's always blushing and worried for her. Sure he may have drugged her but that was for her health so honestly it just shows that he's worried for her. Also.. i'm sure the other two would've done worse (like forcibly imprisioning her or physically knocking her unconscious) for her health.
THANK YOU!! Finally it feels like everyone else is blinded by fictional fantasies! And even then there's nothing special about the priest or prince... obsession and control are not my cup of tea so I don't get it ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
Honestly this is a matter of choosing a smaller evil. They are all pretty bad but the merchant guy pulls out on top if we were to pick one for the ml
plus, he’s the only one who met her post-possession. everyone else knew the original ariel. he knows the truest version of her
