I wouldn't say much better but for me is more interesting. I'm not talking about art or any of this but storyline itself. For e.g. yuri/GL in japanese to me seems all cliche, same old same old. Of course in korean it has some cliche too but in generally is more authentic story line. Anyways, it's my opinion and no one has to agree it.
I'm so sick of the trend on Korean webtoon : rape, omegaverse, love triangle. Feel like Korean manhwa is always so dramatic, just like their KDrama. I just want a simple couple goes through hardship together or varied theme. Most popular Korean manhwa on this website are either dramatic, angsty, psycho love triangle or rapey, non-consensual.

A lot of it has to do with medium of publication too I think. Manga is more traditional paper publishing and they have to be scanned to be uploaded whereas webtoons and such are digitally created. Manga artist have more strict deadlines probably and so they go with the easiest story that'll sell. If you notice most manga stories start off really well and then the endings are rushed. Webtoons can have as many chapters as they want but the story tends to drag sometimes.
There are bad omegaverse in Korean manhwa too, and rape. Like BJ Alex, Love is Illusion, A guy like you, Back to school, etc. Korean manhwa is so over the top and people sleep around like crazy and messed up shits such as Love or Hate, Raising a bat, Rent Boy, Unfather, etc. And most of them are like Harada level of fck up or miscommunications to the maximum. You make it seems like only Japanese BL have that problem. At least Japanese BL has more theme than the current webtoon trend

Maybe I should have worded better. I feel like in manga, rape and all other psycho behaviour are considered rather trivial and often overlooked by the victim. Whereas it's the opposite in Manhwa.
Lets use Killing Stalking vs View Finder as an example(most view Manhwa vs most view Manga). Both has rape. Difference? In Killing Stalking the victim did not yearn for the perpetrator after they slept or spent intimate time together. He fucking hates him for 40+ chapters. Finder? Yearns for seme after 2nd rape.

I apologise for my poor wording. I agree there are fucked up shits in Manhwa as well (which is why I dropped Unfather tbh, not my cup of tea). The ratio of manga to manhwa on here is like, what? 500:1? so yeah they prob has more theme, doesn't mean it's better though. (like omega-verse, IMO, is quite shit the way it's portrayed).
both have their pros and cons. personally I prefer manga art over webtoon art, and their usually shorter length. i also enjoy owning real volumes. with the rape thing, obviously that's going to be a thing in both types, though maybe more prevalent in japanese manga. it just depends on finding good manga, which i could probably reccomend some right now lolol

Omegaverse of Korean manhwa are not as bad like Japanese cause they don't have a lot but seeing from what I have read, they are still as bad. You are under the illusion that Japanese manga is bad because they have a larger number of manga. It's like you buy 100 eggs in Jmart and found 20 bad ones, that's 1/5 of the eggs are bad and but then you bought 40 eggs in Kmart and found 10 bad ones, that's 1/4. Just because you find 10 more bad eggs doesn't mean that Kmart is better.
