Why are so many people so hung up on cheating. It is a plot device, this is fiction. People get so hung up on having a good person from the start, but if they’re perfect from the get-go, how will be get to enjoy any character growth? Better than the slop where the characters never grow and maintain insanity from start to finish. Sure, they don’t cheat, but they ignore consent, murder, gaslight, etc.
Please don’t misunderstand, I am not justifying cheating. However, there are worse character flaws and perhaps, the court of public opinion may deign to give bro a chance to redeem himself. Now, novel readers, if he keeps making the same mistakes, y’all have my blessing. I’m really just here for the discourse. XO
Finally!!! Something fresh where the protagonist is reminiscent of the darker fairy tales from childhood. I don’t know what it is about this genre of magical realism/horror but I love that it’s coming from an Eastern perspective and in Yaoi no less! Such phenomenal work by the author. Can’t wait to see where this story goes. I love a solid tragedy, but I am rooting for them regardless.
What an absolutely wild ride! These characters are brilliant. They are absolutely unhinged and I am just eating it up like an addict. Can’t wait for more!
The philosophical question here is if revenge evens out our invisible karmic checkbook or if two wrongs never make a right? Is it better to allow the state to punish someone for their wrong doing even though it is traumatizing and the possibility of foul play remains? Is the best revenge the one in which you heal, move on, and live a good life? Or do you go back and vent all of the rage and injustice on the perpetrator?
There is no “correct” answer, just answers that are more societally palatable. The entire scenario is heartbreaking, but it makes for a really interesting philosophical conundrum.
I read the novel because the story is so amazing and, while the slow buildup is amazing for character and world building, it is painful to be stuck here again. I love Maxi so much. She really does fight an uphill battle for so long to truly grow as a person. Can’t wait to see more of this gorgeous art and watch the story progress!
First, let me preface my comment to say that the art is refreshing and really lovely. Balloon breasts and mound moobs aside, it is really nice to see something so unique.
On the other hand, my imagination is definitely on board with the idea of dying and going back in time to try again but I have NEVER seen ANYONE manage even remotely narrow heels in grass without sinking in the dirt. And the thought of a film adaption and some poor actress sinking in the dirt repeatedly until someone made a shoe or venue change made me laugh my way through some very serious chapters. Lol
Look, we’ve seen these tropes so many times in BL. Anyone else feel it was lowkey refreshing to know his step-brother was a POS from beginning to end? Like, he didn’t decide he had a crush on him or become swayed. He’s traumatized from his dad’s behavior and is now a predator himself. That’s it.
I also love that ML didn’t retraumatize our poor boy by victim blaming him. This was also a refreshing narrative and I hope they are both able to find happiness AND maybe the step-brother will get a solid kick in the teeth from karma. That would also be nice. Lol.
Generational trauma rears its head once more. The thing is, when we read, we read from one or two perspectives. I love that the author is making us sympathize with Cesare, especially after the fact when we know his idea of love is twisted and harmful. It’s cognitive dissonance at its finest; it’s possible to be an abuser and be abused. This is the nuance I love most in a story. More moral grey areas please!

Let’s bang.” The seme hasn’t developed through the course of this comic, uke hasn’t developed over the comic, and the art is getting worse?!
Save yourself the trouble. Don’t bother with this one. Unless you are a writer and want an example of exceptionally terrible plot lines and non-existent character arcs. A 10-year-old could write a better story than this. Smh.
Look, I know Ash is a good person. I know Carlisle is also a good person. We know their trauma. Dear Author, your writing is PHENOMENAL!!!! Talk about gut-wrenching for Carlisle to see Ash with Hazel.

What a pair of self-centered jerks. Neither one of them is in a position to be on a moral high ground. One refuses to communicate like a normal person and strings him along like a toy, the other comes onto him constantly despite KNOWING the emotional turmoil he is dealing with. Neither of them consider that they’re ruining the friendship, completely crossing boundaries that he has set, and either communicate too much or too little. Grow up… I feel terrible for OP. Why’d he have to catch feelings for such a jerk and have such an insensitive self-centered alternative as a friend. Uuuuuuuugh!
