I honestly don't even know how to put this into words, but I swear Jinwoo is hands down the absolute WORST! I literally can't believe he’s actually trying to start a whole ass rebellion against Guwon and not just that, but completely erase him from existence?! Like, the smartest and safest move was right there: just tame Guwon by leveraging how obsessively down bad he is for you! The man is literally ready to throw his life away just to make you happy and satisfy your every wish!
You absolute idiot, you're ready to slaughter everyone just to pull off your revenge and kill Guwon—the actual master of the village—all over that damn Doctor Lim?! (I’m kinda sure he killed his own dad) Bro, your old nightmare is literally about to come true where everyone blames you for getting them killed.
May you and all your village supporters be cursed. I swear, when the full moon comes, I hope Guwon dies, the zombies show up to tear out your guts, and then Guwon gets resurrected just to make your life a living hell.
Leaving basic surface-level taking sides out of this, what’s happening in the village is honestly a terrifying psychological and sociological case study on unhealed collective trauma.
Some people might see Jinwoo rebelling and trying to overthrow Guwon as some heroic liberation or justice arc, but if we actually look at the reality? It’s literally collective suicide and a pragmatic tragedy. Sure, Guwon is a cold-blooded tyrant who will kill you over something as small as taking extra food or meds, but he represents the "organized oppression" keeping this society from a total collapse. He’s literally the only one—besides the hounds, aka his personal army—providing physical safety from the outside world and bringing in basic survival resources.
Dethroning Guwon right now without a backup who has the exact same power and resources isn't gonna bring "justice" ..it’s just gonna throw everyone into three dangerous stages of collective trauma:
Anomie (Total Lawlessness): The organized suppression disappears and leaves a fatal power vacuum. Instead of one person getting executed by the leader, villagers will literally be killing each other over a single breadcrumb. Right vs. wrong will go completely out the window, and raw primal survival instincts will make violence the new normal.
Desensitization: Without a deterrent, people will lose their basic empathy. Daily violence and destruction won't be a tragedy that shakes people anymore…it’ll just become another Tuesday.
Identification with the Aggressor: Jinwoo claims he’s trying to free everyone, but he’s lowkey just projecting his own personal revenge for Dr. Lim’s and his dad’s death onto the entire village. He’s adopting the abuser’s cruelty without having any of his power to protect anyone, leading everyone straight to the slaughterhouse under the guise of idealism.
In post-apocalyptic / Apocalypse, literal hellscape worlds, morals and idealism are a luxury you just can't afford if you don’t have the raw power to back it up. The only sane survival strategy was taming Guwon and leveraging his sheer obsession to tone down his cruelty and protect the village, NOT blowing up the whole system with everyone inside it. Jinwoo isn't saving the village; he’s just speedrunning its downfall and leaving them to get wiped out by Anomie and zombies.
Honestly, this is the first time I’ve actually wanted to read a long ass comment and I agree 100%.
Beautiful comment they are literally all commiting suicide
LMAO.. sorry for the long comment, but I really appreciate you taking the time to read it, and I’m honestly so happy you agree with me.
The audacity and arrogance to think they can survive on wishful thinking and good intentions alone is tragically hilarious.
