I’m fucking crying at chapter 3. That shit is so unbelievably sad! Like the first two chapters are fucking awful, but I read the comments and decided to give it a chance. But this shit is fucked up! I understand that the ML didn’t do anything with the student, but the fact That it’s just not explicitly cleared up and the author allude to the possibility that something did happen it’s just fucking disgusting. However, just because he’s not a pedo doesn’t mean that it’s OK that he is sexually assaulting the teacher. Like the fuck! And him having flashbacks to his mom beating him just literally was so sad. I wanted to give this man a hug. I stand on this; I fucking hate the ML and I don’t think that shit is gonna change if I decide to keep reading this shit.
I need more of the second couple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 56 chapters was not enough! I could read their story all day!
I saw the cover of this and I honestly thought it was gonna be so cute until I actually started reading this. I got the chapter 15 and was just done. I don’t see any redemption coming. I also jumped ahead and looked at a few chapters and it seems like the ML is still complete trash. I am straight up tired of these stories where the ML is literally physically and emotionally abusive to the MC, and MC just like puts up with it. Are we’re supposed to believe that this is like a beautiful love story? I am sick and tired of seeing these MC literally fighting these ML when they clearly said NO! I swear the BL community needs to do better, let’s stop training everything into abuse and sexual assault/ coercion. Thank you!
The first half of this story literally infuriated me to point of numbness. I spent 44 chapters literally screaming. First I am not a fan of these couples. The ML threatens, kidnaps, devalues, physically assaults, sexually assaults/molests , gaslights, and constantly uses his magic to take way the MC’s autonomy. The ML literally spends the first 40 chapters trying to convince the MC that he’s not real and doesn’t exist only to turn around later and said he knew that he existed the entire time and still treated him like absolute dog shit. Literally the same for the second couple. Then the ML‘s have the audacity to be confused as to why the MC‘s don’t wanna be involved with him or are scared of them. Like you literally have been abusing me why would I wanna be in a relationship with you? Especially for the main couple when the MC was really pouring out his whole heart and the ML just straight up, rejected him and then assaulted him immediately after. However, even during the ML‘s redemption R key still was constantly trying to undermine and take away the MC‘s autonomy when he was not doing what the ML wanted. Like he literally begged you not to take away his memories in the first half of the story and you went ahead it didn’t anyway because you didn’t like that he was investigating. And you can say it was for his protection all you want, but it was controlling, and it again violated his autonomy and his rights. Like by the time I got to the second half of the story it was almost funny watching the ML all distraught and confused as to why the MC was like talking to other people and asking them for help and I’m literally thinking to myself, you have literally been a menace to him this entire time and you say you want him but still barely listen to him and just tell him what he wants to hear so that he can ” obey you”.
I will say the plot plotted hard and it was a very good and interesting read. However, because there was so much involved in the plot of the story I think there wasn’t enough relationship development for me to justify either of the couples getting together.
Also, the main villain just fucked up his whole story. Like the girl he loved, was also in love with him and he betrayed her and he’s mad? Even though I straight up, hated his brother at the beginning of the story for what he put the see-through. I genuinely feel bad for the brother once I kind of found out that his brother was doing magic on him to the point where he was extremely sick. And he talked it out with the MC and they forgave each other so we’re cool.
Lei Lin honestly deserved so much better, she really did. However, the whole orphanage experimentation thing that she said at the end was kind of wild. I literally thought to myself so the orphanage in the people that you so love you also used to experiment and prepared for them to become you and die for the greater good of the world.……………… like sis I was with you at the engagement party and I understand why you did what you did, but I’m real confused.
I have literally spent the past few days binge reading this and I’m still processing everything that has just transpired, but that’s all I gotta say for now.
Also, if somebody reads this long ass comment, can they answer? Is it true that this is the prequel to the promise? I absolutely love the promise. I am down bad for the story.
So I really need confirmation if this story is related so I can reread this story with that in mind.
If every single one of your partners wants to die after interacting with you……
I think, I might be crazy though, that you’re the problem.
I’m so disappointed in myself for taking a decade to read this! It is so good and so cute! I should read the story all day. I need the author to come up with another hundred chapters.
This is an abusive relationship. I honestly would’ve been so happy if the story ended right after Clauden denied knowing Luan after he showed up all sad. It generally pissed me off the amount of times the main character kept saying, “I didn’t mean .” Like let’s be so fucking for real you did mean it, yeah, I can understand that you were lied to by a whole bunch of people, but to say that you didn’t mean to order him to be beat and dragged through the streets, and then not caring that he almost died, and then say well I didn’t mean it is a fucking lie. You meant everything you did and you gave no fucks about it until you realized oh shit, he was telling the truth.
Then Clauden stands on business, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVED, only for the main character to threaten him and drag him to his house by force. Like you can’t even remember this man properly but you’re telling him you love him. I swear that has to be love bombing. The story contained so many different manipulation techniques.
Oh, and don’t get me started with the Weaponized tears! I wish I could come into the story and tell Clauden that it takes more than four months, sometimes even years to let go of being in an abusive/toxic relationship. It’s quite unfortunate that he goes back to the main character.
I swear this is like the perfect story to give to somebody when they start questioning if they’re in an abusive or toxic relationship because of the number of manipulative techniques and red flags that are in the story. Be quite honest I’m at the point where I want most of these toxic and manipulative be our relationships to not work out. I literally read this and was hoping there would be no happy ending for the couple.
I’m on chapter 17 and all I gotta say is the ML is wrong for this. I feel so bad for the MC, he literally thinks this is his kid and has raised him for the past four years only for the ML to have manipulated the situation And knowingly had this guy raise his kid only to come take the kid later. I’m so mad about this, it’s so fucked up. I understand he had a circumstances, but that doesn’t mean that what the ML did is not super fucked up to that MC.
Can someone tell me how many couples are in this manga and what chapters cover each couple?
Spolier.
Not me wanting the mc to stay with the man from book! Honestly, if he was going to leave the book and end up with the writer I would have loved to see the process, instead them automatically getting together. Their relationship was just too rushed it wasn’t like they were close, they kissed once years ago, and the mc falls in love with the character version and forced to leave, and it’s like yup be with the writer you barely know.
I’m not gonna lie. The story started up so cute and adorable but towards the end, I was beyond frustrated with Yirim. I totally understand his circumstances and his thought process, but after he disappeared the second time I was beyond pissed. It was so hard to watch Cheng-ho struggling so much after yirim came back the first time. Like all Yirim had to do was send a text message or call this man on the phone. I understand that you don’t wanna be a burden, but this man is also clearly expressing his feelings to you that you are not a burden to him and you’re making up your mind on your own about how he’s going to feel and then leave. It’s like you’re saying his own thoughts and feelings are invalid and don’t mean anything. That’s a pretty messed up thing to do to someone you’re supposed to love. But after he left the second time, I did not feel bad for him. My thoughts on the situation is yes you have every right to break up with him and you have every right to leave, however, you are caring a good man’s child and I believe that he has a right to know his child. I understand being mad because you don’t want him to give up his swimming career, but I think that’s the dumbest reason to not let a parent have a relationship with their child because you’re mad that they just decided to switch careers like, how does that make sense to be quite honest I DONT think that YIRIM WAS CONSIDERATE TOWARDS CHeng-ho’s feelings at all. And quite frankly, the more I think about it the more pissed off that I get I’m glad that they worked it out, but his second leaving really left a bad taste in my mouth, especially after I saw everything that Cheng-ho had to go through and I don’t think that he was expecting or asking for a lot. He simply wanted to know what was going on, and it pained me so much to see him constantly worry about whether or not YIRIM was going to disappear. Like how devastatingly sad is that just imagining the anxiety he had to go through literally breaks my heart. I’m glad that he’s not leaving now and he’s like decided to stay, but I feel like Cheng-ho’s fears of YIRIM leaving weren’t really addressed. It was mentioned when he came back the first time and he said he was never gonna leave and then he left again. It was a cute read at the beginning a painful read in the middle and in OK read at the end. I get YIRIM I really do, but at the same time constantly abandoning your partner because you disagree on his career path, which by the way is literally changing from a swimmer to a coach, or whatever it is is a pretty fucked up thing to do. So even though there’s a happy ending, my heart still kind of hurts for everything that the male lead had to go through and the lack of acknowledgment of the gravity of YIRIM’s decisions because yes, you can leave. You don’t need to be in a relationship with this man. Everybody has the right to leave a relationship for whatever reason, however I don’t think it’s fair to keep a good man away from his child when he has never done anything to harm you and I also don’t think it’s fair for the child to not have an opportunity to get to know their dad. Even though I never got to that point the thought genuinely enraged me because YIRIM knew he was a good man too.
Honestly, at the beginning, I really did enjoy the story however when Minho enter the picture, the story just went straight downhill. Minho who claims to be a “brother “to the MC is full of shit! Minho is literally trying to isolate the MC by trying to convince the ML to break up with the MC, and also trying to convince the MC that the ML is dangerous and untrustworthy. It genuinely pisses me off that the MC just forgave Minho when he clearly crosses so many boundaries, but literally a race, his memories of the ML just because he hid the fact that he had superpowers. I would think as another person who has superpowers who has been keeping it hidden you would understand. Quite friendly I thought that was super fucked up.
An unpopular opinion: I did not want the ML to end up with the MC. The MC decided that he didn’t want to be in a relationship with the ML and instead of hearing the MLL he erased his memory. After he got his memory back and heard about his trauma only then did he be like oh we’re really the same. Literally if he just talk to him and listen to him, I feel like so many things would have been resolved. You literally erased him from your memory because he said some things that you didn’t wanna hear, but the ML was straight up valid in my personal opinion.
This is not a love story. The story contains rape, gaslighting, emotional abuse, physical, abuse, and kidnapping. I will say I really loved how the MC was standing on business and was like I’m fucking leaving! We need more MCS to fucking leave!
Part of me didn’t like the shift into the main characters, falling in love, but I realized that the MC did not have a choice. He was on the run and the ML put out a bounty on him making it difficult for him to fucking leave, and then the ML shows up and just fucking takes him. So, the MC really had no fucking choice.
Also, the side story where the MC loses his memories of the ML were fucking hilarious! I love how the ML is asking the MC. Do you have any good memories of me, and I was like no!
Also, when the MC gets pregnant in the main story in the ML is like you must’ve been raped. Who did it. Me thinking to myself you! It was you you are the rapist!
OK, so this is just like my personal opinion, but the story was kinda hard to follow at certain points. Like how the MC is just always there at crucial moments, and always knows what’s going on. At the beginning, we did see how he was talking behind the scenes About going to the secondhand shop. However, as the story progressed, it was just confusing how he just came to all these conclusions. Also, I’m on chapter 72 and it seems like their relationship development so far doesn’t really make a lot of sense from the MC’s point of view. Like I understand that the vice captain is like growing increasingly interested in the MC but other than that, it doesn’t really make sense to me how they’re getting closer. Also, I just saw a comment to save the story was dropped so I just skipped to the end because I wanted to see if they got together or not. However, I genuinely don’t like reading stories where the characters all of a sudden suddenly get together at the end without very clear and steady development throughout the manga. That’s just my personal opinion. I don’t like it when characters just get together. I personally like to see them grow closer while also caring about like their emotions in their feelings as they’re progressing. So I don’t know if I will continue reading, because it just seems like there’s so much going on in the plot that there’s not necessarily room for romance.
It’s been a while since I read a manga that made me wanna tear my eyes out. The whole time I read this, I was irritated and frustrated. I got over this manga so quickly and only continued reading because I wanted to know how it ended.
I wish the Soohyun could go back in time and not be stupid, because THEY were so cute until he agreed with the TRASH THAT IS JAEMIN.
Literally Jaemin just needed to say, I like you, why are these MEN IN THEIR 30s playing these dumb as games. I’m read stories were high schoolers have more emotional maturity. Also when Jaemin just stomped all over mc’s confession………. LIKE WTF
The seme can genuinely fuck off and die! I absolutely hated the story. I wasted my time and my brain cells.
Honestly, I’m so confused. Was the story canceled or something? I can’t believe it’s over.
