1. This novel has 430 MILLION views on kakaopage, the manhwa has 17 MILLION views on kakaopage. It is one of the most well known novels in Korea. It had a pop up store. It has merch. They have fan arts with 100k likes. No honey it's not unpopular just because you read English translations illegally
2. The author is already well known and has a solid fanbase because of their previous work 'Debut or die', the novel has 720 million views on kakaopage and the manhwa has 93 million views on kakaopage. Debut or die is even considered by some as the 'blueprint' of idol novels. It even has hardcopy publications not only in Korea but also Taiwan, China, Thailand, and even Russia. There is no doubt that gsgw will grow further just like debut or die. Once again, no honey it's not unpopular just because you read illegally.
3. Even in my country (Singapore), GSGW is already popular. Just this year I already saw that there were two fancafes held. In local anime conventions there'll definitely be booths selling gsgw fan merch. Hell, when I was walking home in my neighborhood I even saw someone with an official merch 5cm plush of lee jaheon hanging on their bag lol. Unpopular? Don't make me laugh.
