Am i the only one who doesn't mind the idea of Mob-kun ending up with Hatano? I mean they'd be pretty cute together although i understand the view with the mind reader guy
I personally don't, but it did changed my impression of the mc, because I was so sure that: if it's hatano, mc is a seme; if it's mind-reader guy, mc is an uke LMAO

I don't really see it cause if Hatano and mc get together it would be after 3 years cause he's still underage, you don't know how he'll be then... Also the idea of switch also exist, and the mind reader guy doesn't scream seme to me either

oh it's just, well, I assumed he's(hatano) 17 turning 20 in three years. and that(what I said) is just how I chose to vibe with the idea of anyone ending up with the mc at all. his interactions with the two are way too funny for me to actually root for any of them, tho I'm not in full support of the single/straight mc ending either. honestly though, mc's subtle, unconscious gestures screams boyfriend way too much any way he'd choose to swing would make sense

Mob is definitely uke in both scenarios lolol Roronoa Zoro
Yeah 100% this lmao, bethejudge you gotta read more BL because Hatano x Mob is a downright spawn of a very common trope, down-bad-for-older-guy high school seme and older uke who took care of him in some way and sees him as a kid

To be honest personality or logic doesn't matter when it comes to who's the uke or seme, it's the author's decision. Though to be fair the mc has a much more nonchalant, mature older brother vibe as a romantic interest so i do believe he'd be seme (top). But again, with actual BL stories it's just the author's decision. I've disagreed with a bunch of roles in BL stories because of it

Let me explain, this story is based on tropes, and the most common trope in Japanese BL is the younger HS yearner boy is usually the top! This manga is poking fun at common tropes and cliches in BL

except your supposedly 'uke' is not your typical mature, older guy in those japanese bl. he's self aware. he himself is knowledgeable of those troupes which makes him different. that's what makes it hard to picture him as the sub in a relationship, except with the mind reader guy who's got a strong personality himself.

I think you need to calm down, you guys are sounding a bit confrontational for something that’s just a small discussion HAHA. To be super clear in case I hurt any feelings, I’m not arguing with you, I’m explaining that this is the most common trope in JP and if you look at the JP discussion threads they are all saying Hatano is the seme.
If you commonly consume Japanese BLs this is a very common trope and I don’t blame you for not understanding. Yes obviously the uke is not standard, he’s not standard in ANY of the tropes he’s in (e.g. when Kikuchi fell in love with him, he’s supposed to be a normal helpful guy, and when the mixer guy liked him, he’s supposed to be a guy uncomfortable with mixers). So the point of him self aware changing the dynamics of the trope is kind of moot.
This BL explores tropes and the funny part is that one of them is self aware. Can you read Japanese, mind me asking? I highly suggest you read this on the author’s pixiv and twitter if you want to understand but let me be clear in case I hurt any feelings, you can totally have your own opinion, I’m explaining what the author is likely going for. I’m not arguing about whether Hatano is a top and you are totally free to feel he’s not!

did you see the period in the end of my sentence and took it as me being confrontational or what LOL. rest assured, no feelings was hurt.
but my point was: japanese bl common tropes aside, it's really hard for me to picture the mc as the sub in a relationship considering his every little actions, most of which he himself wasn't even aware of. that's what I've been trying to say, that's why I said I'm probably biased. it doesn't even have to be hatano. it could be a girl, their neighbor, a ghost, a disguised actor, etc., but it's either hatano or mind-reader guy here. mind-reader guy whose personality so strong, makes picturing mc as a sub easy. what you sound to me right now is like you're trying to convince me that crowley is the sub in ineffable husbands--I simply don't see it. I'm not necessarily disregarding the possibility, I just can't imagine it unless it's explicitly written down because of the existing character context. (but to be honest, since you've made commonality in jp bl a point, making the mc's relationship a generic trope from bl manga in a bl manga full of generic tropes would be boring, but it's really up to the author to deliver ╮( ̄* ̄)╭).

i’m not trying to convince you of anything, please know you can totally think as you want! i don’t want this to escalate any further but please know i’m just trying to inform you that this is a common trop in JP BL), i feel like you’re really invested in trying to prove that Hatano would be a sub and i frankly being a bit blunt don’t care if you or anyone believes that, it does not bother me one bit so please don’t be offended by that! we’ve all understood that you can’t imagine it so let’s stop talking about a topic that is really way too drawn out for you saying “i can’t imagine this” and me explaining that it’s likely hatano is the seme based on jp bl tropes, not that he’s ACTUALLY the seme given the MC has said he’s straight and won’t date himz
Am i the only one who doesn't mind the idea of Mob-kun ending up with Hatano? I mean they'd be pretty cute together although i understand the view with the mind reader guy
I think it's cute how hatano is very cat-like compared to all the other characters and mob-kun adores cats
