Iirc, Chapter 44 will be the wedding day.
After that, comes the cruel Prenuptial Agreement.
THE PRENUP
Jinhyeok proposed a prenup before the wedding. Despite confirming that the child Asel is carrying is his (after the vasectomy reversal confirmation), Jinhyeok still doesn’t trust Asel as a person. Jinhyeok ultimately proposed the prenup to protect his assets, leaving Asel with no claims whatsoever.
This scene was quite sad and humiliating for Asel as a reader. Jinhyeok— like the rich ignorant person that he is, suggested that Asel should get his own lawyer (because he saw how Asel willingly signed the documents without reviewing it). But Asel is young and poor, he doesn’t even know how, where, and why he has to hire a lawyer. He’s broke…
THE WEDDING
No, Jinhyeok still doesn’t genuinely LOVE Asel even during their wedding. Jinhyeok’s mind was highly logical and calculative. Despite knowing that the baby is his, he still thought of it as a TRAP, and saw his situation with Asel as a DISRUPTION to his carefully planned and systematically organized life. He saw the entire ordeal as a BABY TRAP.
THE TRUTH
Asel eventually found out about the contents of the prenup. It showed that Jinhyeok still doesn’t fully trust nor love him. I kinda forgot the specifics of the prenuptial contents, but it indicates; Separation of Assets (Asel has ZERO claim to any of Jinhyeok’s money); Spousal Limitations (highlights the TRANSACTIONAL nature of their marriage); Legal Formalities and Responsibilities (this specifies that Jinhyeok is pretty much only marrying Asel because of OBLIGATION and the baby).
When Asel found out about this, it was clear that Jinhyeok never planned to become a REAL FAMILY with Asel. This triggers Asel’s trauma as an orphan who got returned multiple times, and he ran away to the countryside after.
That’s when the chase arc begins.
When Asel left, that’s when Jinhyeok realized that he loved him.
If you go back through the previous chapters, all the sweet and kind gestures Jinhyeok did was already a reflection of his subconscious. But attuned to his pragmatic traits, he misconstrued these behavior as simply OBLIGATION or RESPONSIBILITY.
The truth is, he already did have feelings for Asel, but his priorities aren’t there yet, thus the Vasectomy.
The chase arc is pretty satisfying decent. He literally left the company and lived in the countryside where Asel ran away to and asked for forgiveness. The thing is, Jinhyeok’s indifference and doubts towards Asel is valid. He wasn’t the typical abusive red flag. He was simply GUARDED. So instead of REDEMPTION , he CHASED Asel.

I’m just gonna imagine Winston being drugged and gang in prison everyday.
HE IS SO FUCKING STUPID
