Irl snake eggs actually have soft eggshells and I don't remember the explanation but I like how the artist was able to convey that "yes this is a snake egg, might be tough on the bottom cuz they soft and slippery but they are infact that soft"

I skipped to the recent chapters but has it ever been addressed as to why the top has pointynears and slitted eyes? It's pretty obvious that he inherited it from his absent father but even then I thought it was a design choice but showing his father got me thinking about it.
Since the bottoms ears are not even pointy it's safe to assume that it's not a personal choice of the artist.
