Tldr; chinese plots are crazy, especially in MANHUAS
Imo its less a problem of complicated plotlines and comprehension of said plotlines, but moreso the presentation and pacing of the story. Anything complicated can be comprehended if given enough room to breathe, which i feel like this story just doesn't. At least thats my take on why this many ppl seem to not understand whats going on no more.

I've never had a good idea as to wat he looked like in the novels (pretty much everybody in the comments agree with me with this) but seeing him being a centaur thing was kind of a downer but I do appreciate the lack of details on his face.
Other than his mouth we don't really see his entire face, what his eyes look, if his face really did go centipede or not. It's a nice detail, shows how far he's gone from the corruption
