The story stated at the start his intentions doing this experiment so why are y'all mad when y'all knew what this story was about? God forbid someone wants to see if everyone's acting under societal pressure and being affected by the placebo effect. He's not looking for love, he's looking for answers. It's really not that crazy.
I think people are reading too many stories at once and don't reread enough/don't have good enough memory so they forget important informations along the way.
