ch1. now i KNOW this mf better not be the ML. RAPED HIM IN FRONT OF HIS SONS CORPSE??? HELLL NAH WTF, WTF, THERE IS NO REDEMPTION HERE. im on the goddess' side, any wish at all, besides...that...

very good story, though I had some criticism from a writer and artist standpoint:

too much focus places on irrelevant side characters: mainly in the later parts of the story, I have a feeling the novel had more focus on them. Some of the characters being Lennart (germany s-class hunter), the Japanese s-class hunters, and especially Liu Zhigeng. There was way too much focus out on them for them to do absolutely nothing for the plot. Liu most of all, it seemed like they were hyping him up a lot when he spoke to Jin-woo directly, but then nothing happens...


not ENOUGH focus on actually relevant side characters: this mainly applies to Jin-woo's father. For a character that finally appears at the very climax of the story to save MC, he didn't have enough build up and nothing significant happens with him afterward, at least nothing done well. I was very disappointed with his sudden depart, and he seemed like such an interesting character. It makes me think there were some things skimped out from the light novel regarding him.

All the female characters: they are just so lacking, in every department. Hae-in does not have a single use outside of being Jin-woo's love interest, every single interaction involving her revolves around him in some way shape or form. The story doesn't pass the bechdel test, which is three requirements. The story must have a least 2 women, they have to talk to each other, the conversation cannot be about men. It is a very easy test, and this story astronomically fails. Besides this, you'll notice all the women kind of look the same. Slender, medium-large breast, pretty face. It's very generic. There is a wide variety of men's body types; big and burly, hairy, muscular, twinkish, lanky, pretty, handsome, ugly, none of them look the same. the girls are bland. In terms of personality, character development, story importance, and design, all the female characters are lacking.

Sung Jin-woo's personality: cool, cold and collected doesn't mean someone is unemotional. MC straight up does not have a personality. and because of this some of the emotional outburst he has (when he cries over the death of two characters, gets angry defending another character, his determination to save all of earth) seem very out of place. I wish they delved more into when he was first getting his powers and was losing himself and the aspects that made him human. "when you gaze into the abyss the abyss gazes into you." it wasn't ever mentioned again after he killed the assassin type hunter near the beginning of the manwha. It also doesn't seem like he likes Hae-in. He never said it with his own mouth either. He doesn't show any interest in her beyond what he shows his friends. Their relationship feels very unnatural due to both of their faults in the story writing.
