I'd definitely go out of my way to protect a friend, even from themselves. At this point however Yuuki needs to be protected from the friends ignorance and bias. Just saying.

ah....nice catch. I just figured he was doing drugs for pain (or due to trauma/memory issues) and the drugs were messing with his sight. But if he has vision problems, that could be why he says Nakisa will surpass him.
