In terms of sports anime with friendship I recommend the Tsurune anime. It’s similar to Free! (both from Kyoani) but I think it does a better job at showcasing the sport. It’s really beautiful and you’ll want more but the fandom is absolutely dead. I’ve heard that Slam Dunk is really good. Kuroko no Basket is similar to Haikyuu in many ways but it focuses more on individual skills and the opposing characters rather than building a friendships and rivalries.
