I'm not convinced that this explains why he's such a dick, especially not if he was so determined to not be like his father. I really don't see how it excuses the mental, financial and sexual abuse.

The blond guy is also very annoying and disrespectful. Half the time he's forcing his help on her? Eventhough Chiaki is trying to set boundaries, he's causing more problems for her because he seems to just think he'd be a better bf while completely dismissing her wishes and feelings. (I'm also convinced he only likes her because he knows she's unavailable to him.)
