I come here, I read the comments, and I skip the chapters. I can't with the angst. Yes everyone's saying "oh they're traumatized," and so on and I get it but like, there's only one dude who's trying to take accountability for it while the other is literally lashing out VIOLENTLY. I draw the line there, you can't be violent to someone trying to protect/love you and hide behind the trauma card.
But mainly, I'm done with the angst. It's stupid. When the angst arc started right before the time skip I'd already lost half my interest cause it didn't make sense for the ml to react like he forgot not only the absolute fundamental character of the mc but also forgot every single moment they spent together. It's like right now there's angst for angst's sake. It would've been more believable to me if the ml disappeared from mc's life while feeling guilty cause his aunt had decided to get involved and shit. Like angst from that take I still could've understood. But. Eh. It is what it is daddy o and they chose violence.
bro the mc should’ve just told him he was writing a character based on his personality cuz he liked him so much in the first place idk why it caused a whole angst arc like me personally i wouldn’t be as violent n aggressive as the ml is being
like right now i understand that the ml distanced himself to protect the mc with the investigation shit that he’s been doing, but the reason the angst started was bs but i still like the story i think the setup of the plot was kind of bad but i hope that more interesting stuff happens because there was no reason for them to drag out the fact that he based a character off of him to this extent because now angst is just happening with no proper background but it’s ok i like the story plz read(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
Right??? ML got in his head that Dohu loved him and one sidedly decided the relationship, Dohu went along with it because he literally cannot care less because of his sociopathy and then Seo got offended because he didnt "love" him. Like i dont think Dohu ever told him he loved him before the time skip, Seo lived a fantasy and got angry when he realised it wasnt cannon Q-Q
YES TO BOTH OF YOU. Ah man, exactly what both of you have said to a T. Like I haven't dropped the story which clearly means I'm interested in it cause at least the pre angst part of the story was well written enough to have me invested even now. But yeah, I really really really can't with unnecessary suffering. Which isn't to say that the characters shouldn't be complex, they absolutely should be and suffering caused by that is a completely different ball game. But unnecessary suffering gives me such a strong ick cause there's enough of that irl, why would I read it in a manga. Give me well rounded flawed characters, don't give me the ambiguity that life already hands out for free.
Ya that was a pet peeve for me too. The break up was so dumb. Like common sense, if Juheon really loved Dohu he would have talked through the misunderstanding. Instead of leaving and making a big deal out of it. Their time together wasn’t fake, yknow? Dohu is mostly honest.
However I don’t think the angst bad. It’s good drama, and it’s interesting to explore a new direction a BL is willing to take. Plus it leaves room for deeper interpretation. Maybe they were meant to break up so superficially since they began dating over a delusion. Their relationship could never be healthy if Juheon never dismantled his way of thinking. This “messiness” is mandatory for growth so they can be healthy and stay healthy.
Just another way to think about it, so maybe you can enjoy reading again.
Eh I don't know. I feel like Dohu WAS already significantly changing. The problem with these stories is that I do think in depth about the implications. Like I just feel like Dohu suffered SO MUCH in the past few years specifically because he was starting to change and then was left open and vulnerable for YEARS. And I mean this from a psychological point. Like it's just, I don't like it when a character suffers soooo much and it all just seems like it's angst for angst's sake you know. Maybe when the story takes a happier turn I'll pick this up, but haaaa. Yes people make mistakes, people cause each other to suffer, but both of them were doing realllllyyy good stuff for each other and then it just exploded into this and now they're both in so much pain :')
