With a single functioning brain cell and a disproportionate amount of overconfidence

Drot June 25, 2026 3:09 am

I come here, I read the comments, and I skip the chapters. I can't with the angst. Yes everyone's saying "oh they're traumatized," and so on and I get it but like, there's only one dude who's trying to take accountability for it while the other is literally lashing out VIOLENTLY. I draw the line there, you can't be violent to someone trying to protect/love you and hide behind the trauma card.

But mainly, I'm done with the angst. It's stupid. When the angst arc started right before the time skip I'd already lost half my interest cause it didn't make sense for the ml to react like he forgot not only the absolute fundamental character of the mc but also forgot every single moment they spent together. It's like right now there's angst for angst's sake. It would've been more believable to me if the ml disappeared from mc's life while feeling guilty cause his aunt had decided to get involved and shit. Like angst from that take I still could've understood. But. Eh. It is what it is daddy o and they chose violence.

bro the mc should’ve just told him he was writing a character based on his personality cuz he liked him so much in the first place idk why it caused a whole angst arc like me personally i wouldn’t be as violent n aggressive as the ml is being

like right now i understand that the ml distanced himself to protect the mc with the investigation shit that he’s been doing, but the reason the angst started was bs but i still like the story i think the setup of the plot was kind of bad but i hope that more interesting stuff happens because there was no reason for them to drag out the fact that he based a character off of him to this extent because now angst is just happening with no proper background but it’s ok i like the story plz read(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Right??? ML got in his head that Dohu loved him and one sidedly decided the relationship, Dohu went along with it because he literally cannot care less because of his sociopathy and then Seo got offended because he didnt "love" him. Like i dont think Dohu ever told him he loved him before the time skip, Seo lived a fantasy and got angry when he realised it wasnt cannon Q-Q

    Drot June 25, 2026 5:38 am

YES TO BOTH OF YOU. Ah man, exactly what both of you have said to a T. Like I haven't dropped the story which clearly means I'm interested in it cause at least the pre angst part of the story was well written enough to have me invested even now. But yeah, I really really really can't with unnecessary suffering. Which isn't to say that the characters shouldn't be complex, they absolutely should be and suffering caused by that is a completely different ball game. But unnecessary suffering gives me such a strong ick cause there's enough of that irl, why would I read it in a manga. Give me well rounded flawed characters, don't give me the ambiguity that life already hands out for free.

Ya that was a pet peeve for me too. The break up was so dumb. Like common sense, if Juheon really loved Dohu he would have talked through the misunderstanding. Instead of leaving and making a big deal out of it. Their time together wasn’t fake, yknow? Dohu is mostly honest.

However I don’t think the angst bad. It’s good drama, and it’s interesting to explore a new direction a BL is willing to take. Plus it leaves room for deeper interpretation. Maybe they were meant to break up so superficially since they began dating over a delusion. Their relationship could never be healthy if Juheon never dismantled his way of thinking. This “messiness” is mandatory for growth so they can be healthy and stay healthy.

Just another way to think about it, so maybe you can enjoy reading again.

Eh I don't know. I feel like Dohu WAS already significantly changing. The problem with these stories is that I do think in depth about the implications. Like I just feel like Dohu suffered SO MUCH in the past few years specifically because he was starting to change and then was left open and vulnerable for YEARS. And I mean this from a psychological point. Like it's just, I don't like it when a character suffers soooo much and it all just seems like it's angst for angst's sake you know. Maybe when the story takes a happier turn I'll pick this up, but haaaa. Yes people make mistakes, people cause each other to suffer, but both of them were doing realllllyyy good stuff for each other and then it just exploded into this and now they're both in so much pain :')

Why are all the latest chapters 2 seconds long. GIVE ME MORE DOMESTICATION AND FLUFF

Drot May 26, 2026 11:39 am

I know the mom was absent and basically pathetic, but I forget the little details. Could someone pretty please update me

    Lynn May 26, 2026 11:46 am

Honestly I also forgot most of it

    junSuke May 26, 2026 11:51 am

Shit I forgot too, from what I remember she was abused by husband, and she ran away, abandoning Hyesung with his abusive father. She started a new family with someone else and had kids I think, them they abandoned her too or something. Now she’s leeching off Dojin’s annoying kindness. He got her a house and she’s living in it, not sure if Hyesung knows but he has been secretly meeting her. This is crazy.

    Tteokbokkiiee May 26, 2026 12:05 pm

Okay so I had reread everything, so what happened was Hyesung and his mother were abused by pos father. She found a way out by marrying someone else after Hyesung’s dad « sold her off » (that’s what he told Hyesung) but she had came back for the divorce and asked to meet Hyesung, pos father lied and told her he didn’t want to see her. She didn’t push or anything so she just left abandoning her kid to the abusive bastard who abused him even more. At one point he was dropped off at his grandma(Hyesung) who neglected and acted like he was invisible but Hyesung was actually happy abt that cause he was able to actually rest from the abuse from his father. After that Hyesung’s grandma died, Pos father lowkey told him he « looked like his mom » which Hyesung was scared of cause his dad could sell him off, anyw Hyesung dropped out of highschool and worked in poverty until he met Dojin, and the rest is history ig. Then she came back (just as pos father did) when the public found out Dojin’s partner was Hyesung and fucked up their réconciliation by basically telling him she didn’t look not fight for him and blamed Hyesung, who had no way of contacting her, for not looking for her too. And now we in the present :P

Yep, I reread the chapter hyesung met her. it was around ch98-99 ( prior chapters display the meeting with father). Basically when hyesung asked his mom why she didn’t come looking for him, she said ‘I didn’t want my new husband to find I had a child” and also “… your father said you didn’t want to see me.” Then she proceeded to say “you also didn’t come looking for me, so how am I supposed find/see you”. I just hate the fact that she doesn’t have a job or anything and just lives peacefully with living expenses and house covered.

This hag. The audacity to expect a kid to find her…

Oh wow. Wow. Woooooowwwwwwwwww. All my previous feelings of annoyance, anger, and outrage have been rehashed. THE AUDACITY OF THIS BITCH OH MY GOODNESS. WHY ARE THEY EVEN TRYING TO HAVE A REDEMPTION ARC FOR HER WHEN SHE WAS COMPLETELY A OKAY WITH HER NEW FAMILY LEAVING HER CHILD IN THE CLUTCHES OF HER ABUSIVE EX HUSBAND like WHAT in the world is the need to bring her back into the story........... Ew. Dojin and Byul really REALLY need shut tf up and let Hyesung be happy in the wonderful family he has now. Wtf.

And also THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THE RECAP GUYS, y'all the real MVPs ❣

Absolutely. I was fine till the victim part and okay her brian wasn't on full throttle after years of abuse but after having gotten out of that abusive situation you meet your child after years where he has lived in your nightmare longer than you have cause as a child he didn't have the option to escape and you BLAME him??? Absolutely gross. I hate it when people thinks their past trauma justifies their present assholedness. It doesn't. Especially not when you clearly have the upper hand in the power dynamic (mother as an adult vs Hyesung as a child)

Drot May 13, 2026 2:53 am

Time to hold true on you "your father isn't blameless" take.

Drot May 6, 2026 11:30 am

This was such a roller coaster like there's happiness but it's really mixed with a lot of pain just thinking what kind of impact that will have on Jiwoo's body. Like honestly I half expect Kayden stepping in cause I can 100% see Jiwoo irreversible and completely destroying his body for the sake of others. I get why this is crucial, but istg I hate when characters I love get genuinely pissed off to this point, breaks my heart everytime (case in point, Aang when he found Gyatso, or honestly most of the times he was forced into the Avatar state)

Drot April 26, 2026 10:57 am

I'm invested. Time to lock in.

Drot April 15, 2026 2:08 pm

So it was all okay, until the "oh I know I said I'll never trust the MAIN villain but here I am telling him about an issue I haven't told my own father".

Even when she started doing the, "oh they only let me be the head of the family cause I'm a dragon" bit, even though the dad had clearly stated that's not the case, I was willing to keep reading. But not after the disclosing to the main villain part. Even the way she's been dealing with him so far has been amazingly childish completely discounting her knowledge of the story and her actual age.
It's such a singularly dumbass move even if you allow the whole 20 something adult has child brain cause she's been a child for so long thing.
Plus I feel like this is the point where the plot holes just start getting bigger and bigger so imma dip.

I like how this is progressing from cute to cuter to cutest
