Guys fighting over a "basic" girl is literally the most basic plot in female-oriented romance. No guy is reading a romance with a female heroine surrounded by a bunch of hot male characters. Guys read romance with male MCs surrounded by a full cast of women, where they can self-insert all there to fuel that waifu fantasy. A poor girl suddenly meets a prince who only likes her and gives her a Cinderella story it doesn’t get more female-oriented than that. And the fact that the majority of manhwa readers are women says a lot.
