After reading the last chapter, I went back to read the first 5 chapters, and everything made sense. It's a little less horrifying than reading it the first time. For Chang Yeong it truly must have been a bittersweet experience seeing him after all those years, holding him...and refusing to be rejected by him. In the same dark light, Hyungnim acting oblivious and lost when he freaken KNEW Chang Yeong held deep sentiments for him, and went through hell to get the chance to be in the same room with him again. The abuse was crazy bad, but im sorry, I feel less sorry for him now. He just didn't want to fathom that the King's love/ desire for him never faded but only grew dark and worse.
Intentional or not, Hyungnim wanted Chang Yeong's undying admiration, made him completely dependent on him emotionally and physically and then up and left without proper closure. No matter where that kiss was placed, it wouldn't have even crossed his mind to do it if he did not have raw obsessive feelings for the Prince. Shows why he also had to make it easier for himself by drugging Chang Yeong because he himself couldnt bear it.
I hate that some innocent people suffered in the present for that same twisted obsession Hyungnim continues to deny, and the very one the King refuses to let go. F those older palace servants though, they all had a hand in abusing Chang Yeong as a child.
As for the brothers- the psyco and the hypocrite who pretends to be righteous and good, the least said the better. Like father like sons.

I think this is good progress. Victor is slowly learning to form bonds with them. Dick giving him the chance to actually demand or tell him what he wants is pretty good because Victor didn’t really get to voice out with Henry out of fear of rejection. I think these three will break that obsession curse. Don’t worry heart, he’ll notice you soon. Besides, heart getting sidelined(although that kills me) serves a purpose. For once Victor will be the one getting chased and overly adored by someone. *sigh*

Okay, at this point, I’m just going to call it. They’re all a bunch of assholes- MC being the biggest of them all.
Yeah I get that he’s hot and we all wanna root for him but I’m calling a spade a spade. He is a shitty friend and a shitty stalker.
First off, he is no saint. He’s banging his friend’s sugar daddy or interest in secret, in the name of fulfilling a contract, when he only did it to get a piece. He basically tricked a naive ML into it.
Then he crashes out because he’s now hooked and ML won’t reciprocate the way he wants? The world does not revolve around you hun. If he really lost interest back then, would it have been okay?
Second, so what if the twink loves being sugar babied by ML turned Uke. Who doesn’t want to be adored and pampered? If anything he wouldn’t have pushed far to try to get ML to learn what he likes in bed with MC if he had zero interest in him at all. For someone like him who has the ‘fuck love and relationship mentality’, money would not be enough to stay hooked to someone. He doesn’t realize it but he actually puts in work to keep ML hooked. Still a little fucked up that he still want to fucks with MC, but that’s been going on for years.
MC should man up and tell ML he’s hooked and confess to his friend too.

I think you've misunderstood the twink. He only cares about sex and money. It's only the money he wants from the ml, he wants the ml to be better in bed so he can tolerate him for longer and keep using him because he knows the ml is obsessed with him regardless. The twink is hooking up with other ppl not just the mc or ml. But I agree with everything else
I mean, I knew it was him from the beginning, but he nearly fooled even me at some point how much more the MC. At least MC will be happy this time, and not freaking out every moment
I honestly dont get why most comments below suspect the brother. I mean at first I did too, but I believe the last chapter cleared that doubt. Hwoyon was not a 'favoured' child, he just had a big brother who did everything to keep him out of trouble with their strict dad. Sure the brother may seem a bit nosy but that's what family is like. When a relative you care about is doing something you know could harm them, especially a younger one, you will try to stop them or help them.
So far I think the brother genuinely cares (irrespective of some shady smirk) Hwoyon himself recalls his brother being nothing but protective of him when they were young. Oh well, still a plot, anything can happen. But I dont dislike him- not yet.
