A doting man can still be problematic. I think a lot of ppl don't realize that just cuz the ml is doting and "husband material" doesn't mean his love isn't toxic. It actually forces the fl to just be a stay in the kitchen "wife". I had no red flags going off ab the ml. Hes not toxic at all, just kinda annoying when jealous sometimes. Hes harmless and would def listen to any boundary she sets. Her ability is literally housekeeping, so ofc shes gonna mostly be doing that. I love her character. The brothers a gardener i mean and it isnt the most macho job out there. I think both of the dudes behaviors is supposed to be comedic relief even though its not the funniest thing. I probably dont see it the way u do bc ive never been forced on that position, so i can enjoy reading this without having anything triggering me
I also dont think that his love forces anything on her. Thats the way u see something when u have been hurt and see simple things as malicious. this seems more like self projecting than actual analysis of his character. he doesn’t force huina to be a stay at home wife at all and there are a bunch of examples to prove it.
a man who wants a stay at home wife would insist on her cooking everyday without pay bc a lot of those kind of men believe housewives should not be compensated for their work. he does the opposite. he constantly wants to pay her and always validates how much effort she puts in, and at the beginning he’s said that it’s fine even if she only cooks for him once a month.
he literally helps her with combat and training later on bc he wants her to be safe even tho he could easily pull the “im around why do you need to learn how to defend yourself?” card. plus, he dotes on her constantly by doing the housework and cooking very well. please find me a “toxic” traditional man who would do such a thing for his wife willingly
