He regrets it a ton but Jayna feels so indifferent to their relationship that he just feels even worse. It eventually improves like a ton toward the end and there are heartfelt moments when the bigger conflicts happen in the story. But it was not an immediate forgiveness thing to my understanding, took a lot of time.

I read the whole thing start to finish. The king’s redemption is kinda interesting but I find the jokes about him in the side story to be distasteful. I actually really really hated the side stories. The story overall is mid (excluding side story) and it’s really melodramatic with the whole romance thing. The sister concept was pushed to the side completely so it really sucked imo
