I found the novel in Spanish, but the translation is readable an 8/10. Since I speak Spanish so I can summarize what happens in the novel, and I had to share this with someone because their love it's so devoted I haven't read the extras yet, but I'll add the rest when I do...

As far as the manhwa is going, you can rest easy knowing Shin Hoo and Taebaek manage to escape but then difficulties arise, especially because their relationship is on and off, as Shin Hoo is slow to fully accept having a life together with Taebaek.
Okay, so a few days pass until Shin-hoo lets go of thoughts of dying and accepts living the future with Taebaek as his lover. Along the way, they continue fighting zombies, but one of them smashes th car window. Shin-hoo picks up a wolverine tooth and puts it in a refrigerator at their accommodation. That night, they decide to share the apartment with a family of four. Everything was fine until they exchanged food with the family, but it was a mistake. The father accidentally cut his hand on the zombie tooth they had stored in the refrigerator. Shin-hoo then discovers that he can also infect you with a tooth, even if it's not in the zombie's body. Shin-hoo understands it was a mistake, but there was no going back. I felt sorry for the family because Shin-hoo should have just thrown the tooth away instead of keeping it, but before they could do anything, the family chose suicide. Before the mother decides to end her life, she argues with Shinhoo because he wanted to save her, but there was an earthquake-like landslide where everyone was trapped. Obviously, the noise would attract more zombies, so when Shinhoo catches his breath, he notices that Taebaek is seriously injured in the leg. At first, he thinks an infected person scratched him, but then he realizes it was caused by the landslide. When he touches the wound, it "hurts," which means he's not infected. Shinhoo remembers when he treated the housekeeper wound; it didn't hurt, so if there's pain 4rthere was no infection. They continue on their way until they have a car accident that forces them to continue on foot. They lose the car, and Shinhoo is very sad because he had many memories in it with Taebaek. My God, Shinhoo is so devoted to Taebaek; he loves him so much. They then arrive at a military hospital where Shinhoo carefully treats Taebaek's wound because it needed stitches; it wasn't a superficial wound. There, he finds some classified documents that, in short, prove a coup d'état. The virus started in Afghanistan with the soldiers but got out of control. Therefore, according to this, the document would be sufficient evidence to use in their favor later on.

Then they arrive at a place where they meet and help other survivors, but it's difficult because they're still surrounded. They're somewhat close to Mokpo, but they need to use kayaks. Obviously, they fight with the survivors because one of them wants Shinhoo's weapon, but he's very intelligent and tests the survivor, realizing he has bad intentions... In the end, they manage to escape in the kayak (using a frying pan as a paddle)

Let me start by saying that everything Im sharing comes from spending many years on this site, observing patterns across multiple accounts, and reading user reports. Im not the dev, mod, or admin but Ive had experience with systems which is why I can answer your “whys” and “what ifs”


THIS IS THE SITUATION
Jan19 - Bto closes

⠀⠀⠀*caused by backend updates or overloaded servers
Jan26 - Mgo comes back up
⠀⠀⠀*site is online again but very buggy: missing lists, random logouts, slow pages, no notifications, etc
⠀⠀⠀*this is when the system started gradually restoring lists

WHY IS THE SITE SO BUGGY
- Mgo uses separate parts for different things. One to SAVE your manga data (aka database/the memory), another one to DISPLAY your saved Manga data (aka UI/what you see), and another one for your browser/session data (aka cookies, login state, etc/this also connects the database and ui). When everything is working properly, these three systems stay in sync (eg. when you save a manga, it will show up in your list right away)

The system will communicate with Database, like hey this is the user that logged in go tell UI the things they should display. So Database will tell UI, like hey based on what's given to me, these are the saved data that belongs to this user, these are what you should display. HOWEVER, because of the gradual restoring of lists (which puts a heavy load on the site), the System, UI, and Database are not able to communicate properly, so theyre not in sync. This is why we’re encountering the issues

I DON'T GET NOTIFICATIONS
- since the System, UI, and Database are not in sync, Mgo cant correctly link your acc to your saved mangas so notifs dont show up/update properly. This is temporary and should be fixed when the system is in sync again

WHY DO I KEEP GETTING LOGGED OUT
- Mgo keeps track of your login/session info. But if this isnt tracked properly, Mgo may log you out randomly/repeatedly

WHERE DID MY LIST GO
- Your mangas are not deleted. Theyre still saved in the database. Mgo is gradually restoring everyone’s list from the oldest to most recent marked mangas. Follow this post to get notified about updates: https://www.mangago.me/home/mangatopic/21092806/

WILL I GET MY LIST BACK
- YES. Do note that while your list is coming back, you might notice some things are off:
⠀⠀⠀*all mangas going into Already Read even if theyre originally marked as Want to read or Reading
⠀⠀⠀*deleted mangas showing up again
⠀⠀⠀*missing notes/summaries
⠀⠀⠀*only rated mangas showing for some users
(I can explain why but it will be too long for this FAQ. idk how to explain without sounding too technical so i might also have to explain the basic terms. You can ask in the comments if youre curious)

I ADDED NEW MANGAS TO MY EMPTY LIST, WILL IT OVERWRITE THE OLD ONE
- if you ADD NEW mangas while the site is restoring, your new list will stay. And your original list will be added back on top of it once its fully restored. But if you RE-ADD EXISTING mangas, it will update the original date of when the manga was added, tags, and summaries/little notes you originally had for it. its usually best to wait and let the restoration finish before making lots of changes

WHY DO OTHERS HAVE THEIR MANGAS BACK ALREADY, WHILE MINE IS STILL MISSING
- think of this like we're reading through a giant BOOK of everyone’s manga list, arranged by the exact time each manga was added (aka timestamps). Each timestamp is like a page in the book, and we read them from the oldest timestamps to the newest. Right now, we are reading timestamps from Feb 2022 (as of writing this post), so any timestamp dated later than Feb 2022 wont appear YET

If your lists are still completely EMPTY, there are 2 possible reasons:
One is that its about “activity”, not account age. So even if you joined in 2016, but you didnt add any manga until 2023, your list wont appear until the system reaches the timestamps for 2023. The second reason is, since the system is very busy right now, it sometimes hits a blurry page and has to skip to keep moving. This doesnt mean your data is gone. It just means the system needs to go back for a second run once the "main reading" is done

HOW SOON WILL THEY COMEBACK / WHEN IS THE RESTORATION EXPECTED TO FINISH
- how soon your lists fully comes back depends on how far along we are in the “book” and how many timestamps we still need to read. If yours already started to appear again then thats a good sign. it means your account is already in the queue and the rest should continue to come back (gradually, not all at once)

If theres another run, expect anywhere from a few extra hours to about one extra day. A full second pass could push it to Feb 4–5, but a partial cleanup run would likely finish around Feb 2–3.

IMPORTANT: WHEN TO CONTACT SUPPORT
- PLEASE WAIT. Do not email the devs yet. The system needs to make several runs to load everyone's data correctly. Most of the current issues should fix themselves after the full restoration process is done. Give it at least 2 weeks from now.

If after everything finishes and youre still seeing clear errors in your marked mangas, report them to [email protected]

If possible, keep a small log of your observations and what you did, such as:
⠀⠀⠀*whether you re-added, edited, or deleted mangas during restoration
⠀⠀⠀*any repeated issues (random logouts, missing notifs, errors, etc.)
⠀⠀⠀*the other specific errors you noticed
Simply put, keep a log of WHAT YOU DID/OBSERVED and WHEN (use GMT or if in your local time, specify your timezone). The more specific your report is, the easier it is for the devs to trace what went wrong. It helps them replicate your actions so they can actually find and fix the problem

Here's an example log:

2026-01-28 9PM: I added 10 mangas to my Already Read

I really dont remember reading ch29 in the novel, so I'm not sure whether this manwha will follow the novel. Also I read this like way back in MTL so I will do my best to write as many as I can remember.

Yeonwoo (uke) - YW
Seongwoon (seme) SW
Granny - Gran

- I think after this chapter, this is the time where YW will wake up in the at dawn to find out Gran is not besode him. He panicked and called SW to ask for help. They looked everywhere only to find Gran in the market. Gran said he wants to buy YW a cake- YW remembered it was Gran's memory of his 8th bday, where all his friends went to his house and said his house smells and criticised the food that was spread.
- When he received his 1st paycheck he asked church head for help to put Gran in a nursing home which costs 75% of his paycheck. When he told SW abt this, YW said he can just help him until he sends gran to the nursing home. SW thought YW was being selfish. I remember he just said that bec when Gran will be sent to the nursing home, he will have no purpose going to YW's house and he will be alone in his house again.
- After sending gran to the nursing home they drank at SW's place. they reconciled abt their prev misunderstanding and SW said he still couldnt believe he dated him. He also said he is not sure whether his memories will still come back. He asked YW to continue just being friends with him- like a subtle way of saying to forget their relationship/not to get his hopes up. Deep inside SW felt hurt when YW answered "Is that ok?" , then he cried his heart out in the bathroom when he excused himself
- The bully made another comeback. The owner just told YW of possibly rejecting YW's requests for overtime coz business is not good these days. When the owner went out and the manager was left behind, the bully came in the store and asked YW if he's working there. YW begged the bully not to tell the owner abt YW almost hitting him with a brick, (So basically he learned that the bully is relatives with the owner coz the manager talked to the bully and called the manager hyung) He asked YW to go to an address after his shift. The address was a store the bully forced YW to get a phone plan. I'm not sure how much it costs but this means YW wouldnt almost have anything left from his salary. Btw the bully threw something at YW's face so YW got no choice but to sign up.
- Since SW is the only number he knows, he contacted SW using the new phone and he was excited to learn he got one so he wanted to go to YW's place to teach him how to use it. YW rememberd his face was wounded and swollen so he stopped SW from coming and made excuses of being tired. But when SW arrived, he became suspish of YW being fidgety and there he found his bruised face. SW was so angry insisting YW to tell what happened. At first he thought it was the boss but even after YW making excuses he put 2 and 2 together and figured it was the bully.but he was suspish and put things together and learned about what the bully. YW begged for SW not to do anything, there was drama. SW kept on apologising to YW and asked him later why he shouldnt do anything. He said it was bec the boss is the bully's aunt and he might lose his job and not be able to pay for Gran's nursing bills. The next day he went to the pizza place until he clocked out, afterwards, he told SW abt his life being bullie after the bday incident. It's so heartbreaking I can no longer continue, but that's the reson why YW wish is to only die after his Gran, how he was thankful he had his first friend in 3rd yr in highschool even if he lied abt where he live and what kind of life he had, Then he said he would never hate him and that he finally can empty his heart
- Scenes in between where they visited Gran in the nursing home and visited SW's parents grave where they saw the photos in SW's phone where full of YW.
- Next days SW kept on going to YW's workplace where YW felt uneasy bec the owner and the manager liked SW and always laughing when talking to him. He's also suspish on why SW always go there. Then the bully called YW angrily asking him to go to the store. SW eavesdropping at the phone call. SW went with YW at the store. Although YW was so desperate begging SW to not do anything, it was a satisfying moment coz he beat up the bully. He was portrayed like a different person. This was my fave part actually. He even asked YW to hit the bully, which he did.
- After this SW suggested to quit his job at the pizza place. SW will be paying the nursing expenses and in turn he will report to SW's house to study together. IT's like his work but he will study there so that he can go to college. The money paid for gran is like a loan which he can pay off later after college and when he is already working.
- Moments of YW and SW then SW asked YW to meet his friend (who is from Seoul). They had fun together but later YW found out that SW didnt tell the friend what happened to his parents. That night he woke up to seeing SW watching a video of his parents and he was crying later on he got sick,
- After they went on a trip, SW ended up confessing to YW but YW didn't want it. He kept saying they should just stay as friends. When SW insisted on knowing the real reason for YW to reject him bec he kept on changing the subject, YW said he dont want that confession with a different emotion. To him SW's feelings was out of the premise that they were in a relationship. It was like if that premise wasnt there SW wouldnt fall in love with YW. I think it was something about just him being carried away coz he knew he liked YW in the past. IF he didn't know that fact, would SW still like him? SW brushed off this reason. For him the past wasnt important and they could just create new memories but YW got hurt more coz it was like SW just brushed off the past that was very special to him. YW holed up to his house only crying and being depressed. A week after a letter came from SW saying wishing he would be happy and that he is now letting go of him.
This was so heartbreaking istg. I rmember the lines were so superb couldnt stop crying.
- YW felt relieved when the counselor said they will cover his Grans nursing expenses for about 1-3 yrs. He visited Gran to celebrate her birthday and when he went home he packed all things that was impt to him. Then he took all the prescribed pills for him in one go. (he was taken to a psychiatrist by the counselor and was diagnosed with high risk depression) He committed suicide and leaving a will to take care of a bag with all his belongings.
