Soooo as a novel reader, not finished yet, I realised how much i despise Dane
Oh, i kinda feel this too. I know he will be like this. Grayson prob sleep around to test if that person is his fated mate unlike dane who sleep around with anyone just for fun even if its a married women.
I dont like either of this characteristics but I can prob say that dane have the highest chance of hurting someone.
Grayson never cheated on anyone though so how does cheating be justified and Grayson had relationships with consent and everything he might have hurt some people but I don't think Grayson deserved it because Dane knew lowkey that Grayson suffers from no emotions and stuff too so he could had been a better type of teacher and person for him instead of being mean and very cruel type of thing for him even when Grayson was such a Green Forest for Dane. I love Dane don't get me wrong my pfp screams I love Dane but in his story I def disliked Dane cause I hate the type of characters when in relationship says I can sleep with anyone and u can sleep with anyone u want type of thing.
He tried to, although we really don't know what would have happened if Grayson didn't stop him. If he really would have gone through or stopped at the last moment. That's something we will never know.
But the attempts were there, and it doesn't matter if it was a trial relationship or not, the moment he agreed he should have been faithfull or not agree at all.
I would say bro, he would have gone through with it if Grayson hadn't stepped up like he has no boundaries at all. We can't expect the biggest manwhore to not go through i don't know my mind is fussy didn't he kiss the alpha guy before Grayson came and stop it, it's already cheating. Bro yes some people argue it was just a trail he shouldn't but he already accepted and be loyal for the 3 months but he wasn't
If he topped Grayson I would have said yes, that he would have gone through, but he bottomed for Grayson, a dominant alpha. So that experience was new to him. That's why I'm not sure what would have happened, when it came to really doing it.
Iirc the alpha kissed him, since he slept with him some time ago they knew each others, but he participated in that kiss. And yes, the moment Dane agree to the trial relationship, he should have stopped at least for the time being or shouldn't have agreed in the first place.
Okay so personally for me I do not like characters like Dane...He seems to come off to me as someone who is like "I am not like this people", his indifferent reaction towards people around him triggers me because I don't like it when I am pouring out my heart and you go like "ok".He is insensitive and have no boundaries. He is the kind of boyfriend that will cheat on you and blame you for it. (*He kinda does dat in the novel). He acts like he is doing a favor when he is with Grayson. Dane actually is a very well written personality, it's just that I don't like that kind of personality lol.
Although Grayson is my favorite character from Zig's stories, I'm going to play "devil's advocate" for Dane regarding the discussion about infidelity...it's true that Dane had never had a relationship his adult life, and from what he says to Grayson later at the bar, it implies that he accepted an open, non-monogamous relationship. In fact, while I was reading, the moment he accepted the trial relationship, I immediately thought, "Hmm, Grayson...how come you, being a lawyer, didn't make the rules of this relationship explicit to him?" Because accepting a relationship doesn't always imply monogamy just because most relationships are like that, especially when it comes to someone with Dane's profile. We may not agree with open relationships, but they do exist, and in Dane's mind, everything indicates that he was agreeing to that type of relationship.
As a novel reader as well, this take makes no sense. Dane literally has trauma and did not want to date Grayson or anyone for that matter. Why are we being understanding of Grayson but for some reason Dane is not allowed this same grace. He is flawed but not to the point of hate. He literally fears love from his own mum trying to kill him.
I don't necessarily see it as infidelity but personally I am able to relate with Grayson more, he have been declaring how he wanted to date Dane and I would have expected Dane to atleast be aware of that sentiment when he accepted the trial proposed to him by Grayson, the very man who shows discomfort sharing Dane in many of their previous encounters. But again, it's not Dane's responsibility to read all the between lines. So ya, there's differences in their thinking, it's just that I mean more towards Grayson's in dis kind of situation.
I understand you, but it's kind of complicated for Dane to be insightful on this issue. Despite having had sex with thousands of people, the lack of a real relationship makes this understanding difficult. To top it off, there's also the issue of trauma involving love, which made him even more reluctant to try to understand how it worked in a relationship. Up to this point in the story, he saw his relationship with Grayson as something perfunctory... a three-month agreement to fulfill and then end. He only realizes that he is truly and sincerely loved by Grayson near the end of that period and ends the relationship precisely for that reason.
i get every personality type isnt everybody’s thing. But your comment kind of feels like you have a picture of danes personality and imagine yourself in situations with him. There are many things you said that don’t make sense with danes personality and how he acts in the novel.
I think you’re confusing Dane being emotionally reserved and blunt with him being uncaring. The novel shows multiple times that he cares about people through his actions. It’s fair to dislike his personality, but saying he has no boundaries, would cheat and blame his partner, or thinks he’s above everyone else isn’t really supported by the novel. Those feel more like personal interpretations than things the story actually shows.
I mean, I think Dane didn't see it as cheating because he didn't see it as a real relationship. Grayson bribed him with "trial date me for a little while and then I'll leave you alone forever" and Dane didn't seem to believe Grayson was actually in love with him until near the end of that and immediately broke it off when he did because he thought Grayson deserved to go have a real relationship with someone who could love him back just as much.
I was confusing this with another manhwa
This one:
https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/sunshine_shower/
I was so confused when I saw s2 of this manhwa but its not the same vibe at all, the art is a bit similar
Hmmm yeah, I wasn't going to say it but oh well, this chapter felt like a cheap version of Dear door ngl, Cain couldve been everything but he respected his lover a lot and I feel like he just crossed the line here without any reason lol, being angry shouldn't be an excuse to assault your partner and make them feel like shit.
Doing a small observation cause lets be fr, the author surely took inspo from Dear door and I wish she developed this chapter better instead of going down that route, this have a lot of potential.
Either way, I will continue to read and hope this chapter was just a one off.

He is mental.... I feel bad for Rian
