I can't quite put my finger on why this one didn't click with me. But it was an ok read.
This kind of story really needs some down time to properly process emotions. This one is just go go go, both fast moving AND repetitive for some reason. Like, before there's time to even process the tension of MC escaping he's caught again. And then Heat? No heat. Heat? No heat. Heat?? ...no heat. Was hoping for angst and drama, but I'm mostly just annoyed.
I don't mind adding a season to settle things with the grandfather, or even having some outside factors putting some strain on their relationship, but this is jarring and weirdly out of character.
