Even if it seems a bit strange to you, 19 and 27 year old would only be 8 years apart. My parents are 10 years apart, and my cousin is 20 years older than her husband. Even so, it's totally legal, and they're in love. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a huge fan of the "age-gap" as a cliche, but it's very common for adults to be farther apart in age like that. I'm not sure how it ends up in this story in particular, but their of age gap isn't so large that it should make anyone else uncomfortable.
I'm 20 and a huge age gap does not suddenly just seem normal all of a sudden. as u age, age gaps seem more gross (in the sense that a 19 year old is still a teenager, not an adult).
