Just sick and tired of seeing degrading manhwa porn which is obviously targeted towards men so I wanted to be messy about it and see what guys had to say about it so I could challenge them, I wanted to call some men out for being incels but i just got a bunch of non-men responding, no offense. psychological bl usually encompasses manhwa which have a focus on gay relationships however involve themes like rape, torture, abuse etc. perpetrated by other characters who don't include the main love interest otherwise it borderlines those themes because the genre is PSYCHOLOGICAL and the main character is equally as disturbed and crazy as the perpetrator e.g being handled aggressively during sex with intent to harm but the receiver of the aggression 'enjoys' it and even encourages it. You cannot have an abusive ML who rapes the MC who very clearly is distraught by these actions and wants to get away but the author makes them somehow 'fall in love' then slap on a psychological label and say it's okay because that plot has no relevance to the psychological genre, rape to 'romance' is not psychological. If you'd like me to expand or give you actually good psychological bl I'd be happy to do so. Otherwise if you have any else to say to challenge this, be my guest x

No I think you just originally worded it badly that’s why I said that. I understand where you are coming from what I meant by psychological tag thing is : a tag doesn’t really change much yk. I don’t think a manwha should be just watered down to rape fetish content just because there is rape in it. You can appreciate a piece of media without agreeing with everything it stands for. What I think is important is why and how you approach it. If someone is reading something to fetishize rape or something they will, if they are not reading because of that reason they won’t. So I don’t think just because you read something with rape in it and it doesn’t have a psychological tag doesn’t mean you fetishize rape. It’s more about the conclusion you come to at the end that determines it yk. But I agree that some manhwas are very uncomfortable to read because they will draw the rape for chapters upon chapters (even though it’s pretty easy to understand what happened and we don’t need to see it happen) But just because you read it doesn’t mean you fetishized rape UNLESS if you enjoyed reading it tho that’s a different story. So it all really boils down to WHY you are reading something. Hope this makes sense since English isn’t my first language <3

no yh I get that, I've also read manhwa that honestly utilised rape to cause romance to flourish (tryna reword my approach to 'rape fetish' lol) but they've always been oneshots or like 6 chapters because curiosity feeds the cat. I get that, you wanna know whats gonna happen next to the mc etc. however there comes a point when you're on chapter 60 something on season 2 and there's still rape BUT still no signs of romance?... I don't agree with there being any romance like atp turn it into a thriller where the mc kills the abuser. Anyways how can you continue to read so many chapters with no actual sign of progress except continuous rape. That's what I don't get cause personally I feel sick and disgusted after 10 chapters barely. Which is why I was led to the conclusion of the reader being an enjoyer of rape content, how is it possible to read a manhwa for so many chapters if you don't enjoy it? No I totally understand where you are coming from If you don’t like something you simply don’t read it that is the best thing to do. I only find people who ALWAYS go on rants about not likely a manhwa or something annoying. Because you going on rants about a manhwa isn’t going to make it disappear it’s only gonna make you miserable because you’re still engaging with it . (I only mean people who always go on rants about not liking something not you <3) In the original post you mentioned some manhwa’s I haven’t read most of them except for low tide in twilight because I liked how the MC’s (I lowkey forgot his name) depression was portrayed and the cute dynamic with his brother. I gave this example to show that you can find something interesting in a manhwa and not only focus on the rape or stop reading just because there was a rape scene. That being said the ML is still a bum and I acknowledge the fact that what he did was wrong. Anyway I think I’m just rambling at this point because we clearly agree and just misunderstood each other <3
