1. Gren is manipulative- Yes, he is. He is because he can only see one path to survival, and it’s Shin. Whether we like it or not, it’s a self-preservation instinct kicking in.
2. Gren is Jake’s weakness- Actually, Shin is Jake’s weakness. Even Izmael commented on that. Gren is Shin’s weakness. Jake only protected Gren because of Shin. And Jake told Benille (Merciful underboss) that he let Gren go, so the Mercifuls already know. He told Benille that Gren might come in handy in the future.
3. Gren wants to join the Mercifuls- Holy shit. Didn’t see that one coming. Should’ve, but didn’t. Jake really is a master at chess!
4. About Gren being Shin’s weakness- Shin hit a point where he had to choose between Gren and Jake, and he chose Jake. Then it happened again, and again he chose Jake. But Gren is wearing him down: “The ones who really hurt us us were always people close to us.” Faced with the decision once more, will he continue to choose Jake?
Sogo is solidly straight. Hyodou-sempai was only used as as substitute and he knows it. Tamaki is like his little brother, so that's not going to happen either. Whatever happened to that detective guy from the beginning? He had potential. I would love watching Yamato fall in love. It's hard seeing him struggle with his feelings of self-worth
The sex scenes are amazing in this. but I need equal amounts of plot advancement, because that's also amazing. Look at all this going on:
1. Can't wait until Shin finds out that Jake's made him his "gangster wife". He's gonna be super pissed!
2. Jake is setting Ross up to take another hit to his dealer reputation, so he'll be back sooner rather than later.
3. Speaking of Ross- it seems he's caught some feels for Shin. Ugh. I think he might end up bringing his business back to Lump Spark because that's the only way he can get close to Shin at this point.
4. Shin has a lot on his plate. He feels responsible for Lump Spark's loss of clients, he's worried about Jake getting gunned down in the streets, and he knows Grens is so fucked up, he's unable take care of himself. Shin is really carrying a lot of baggage.
5. Jake knows Shin's going through it and is depressed. This is definitely affecting him too. It's looking like his highest priority right now is distracting Shin and trying to find ways to make things better for him. The only way to deal with both his relationship with Shin and his spy job is to combine the two. If the CIA Director finds out he's been doing this, she's not going to be happy about it.
6. Caesar is also worried about Shin and is sticking closer to him. Jealous Jake is not liking this.
7. Still waiting on Shin discovering Jake's true identity. How will he find out? Will Hosung's hackers finally break into the CIA server? Will Caesar get frustrated with Jake's stonewalling and tell Shin herself? Will Jake feel the need to tell him or will he fuck up and get caught, like he almost was when he was video-calling Caesar and making her show Shin to him? Will Shin discover or figure it out on his own? Or will the author pull some other crazy twist out of their hat?
8. Jake is pretty cocky in his confidence, but he's made A LOT of enemies. His luck isn't going to hold out forever, as Izmel pointed out to him.
9. Ross is suspicious of Jake. Benille is suspicious of Jake. Biker dude wants revenge on Jake. If Grens finds out about Jake's relationship with Shin, you know he's going to be jealous AND paranoid. Jake's plan is to get Ross and Benille thrown in jail and to kill the biker dude. Grens is a loose cannon, but it looks like Jake does have some use for him. We'll see how all those plans play out for him.
10. Most importantly, Shin is Jake's weakness. Somebody's bound to exploit that before this is all done.
I forgot to add the one about Ross finding out about Shin and Jake's relationship. He knows Jake (in a police uniform) retrieved Shin from him at the Royal Roader, but seems to have forgotten about that for now. He just caught on that Shin's involved with least one other man, so it's just a matter of time before he works it out
Excited to see what the author does with everything. Thus far this has honestly been the best BL I've ever read, purely because the relationship advancement has been great and the plot is actually compelling and well done. I think it's sort of unspoken between Shin and Jake at this point that they care a lot more for eachother than they let on. Enough that it may make them both weak.
If you haven’t read this manga, you REALLY don’t want to read this spoiler. If you HAVE read volumes 1 through 3, then you might find this helpful since I’m reading in the comments that either some people are confused, or they’re mistaking the ending for something else. Just some people, not everyone. So, last chance for Undergrand Hotel virgins to back out. NOW.
Ok?
Sen and Swordfish cut a deal to cooperate with officials in an operation to bust the warden. However, the warden and his cronies were a part of a large crime syndicate so that put both Sen and Sword’s lives in grave danger. The only way to guarantee their survival was to make it look like they were killed, so they acted out that whole fight and killing scene, with undercover agents in place to ensure it looked real. Afterwards, Sen and Sword were put in the Witness Protection Program where they were moved to a remote place (looks like an island outside the US) and their identities were changed
(spoilers)
