I think the end of this manga is when Souichi will accept Morinaga but the situation is still the same. I think the author is just making this too long because of all the fans awaiting also but stretching this far too long without even a little bit of a hint that Souichi is getting equal with Mori in terms of feelings is a far fetch dream already.
