I think maybe it’s like a villain redemption story? With the “real” villain being the king? But idk it’s weird especially since he ends up killing himself for her.

from the spoiler that I read it wasn't the goddess that gave leticia's mother powers.

She took it away because she wasn't a saintess in the first place. She was just a temporary priestess to fill in until the real saintess is born.

She had saintess powers but only temporarily. She was a fill in and as soon as the real saintess was born she lost her powers. The powers she has right now isn't from the saintess but from some evil being that made a deal with her.

She was 15 when she got her powers and lost them when the FL was born. That's why she keeps abusing her because her main reason is that because of the FL she lost most of her powers.

i dont see why people hate Helena. If she was the FL then everyone would cheer her and be mad at Eris even if the story wete to stay the same. Pls ppl get some braincells, both of them are trying their best to survive in this huge misunderstanding.

like i see so many people bashing helena for not standing up for eris but no one talks about how og eris locked her up for hours and even so helena didnt tell the prince about it ??

true. Helena even asked Eris if they could be friends but new Eris refused so why should she stand up? Plus she cant really do that because of her status.

Id cry if i was humilated like that and im not a crybaby. People that are hating on Helena probably think they are cool and "loyal" to Eris if you get what i mean.

Even if she were to cry more often, I wouldn't call someone in Helenas situation a crybaby, no watter how often she cries. If she would cry all the time, even though she could just solve the situations then that'd be a crybaby. But she can't solve those situations without dying in the end, I'd say.

i agree. I see nothing bad in her crying because she was alone and wasn't looking to manipulate people those were her honest feelings. Also as you said in her situation its understandable that she will cry.

Tip for people who hate on Helena because Eris is FL: just bc someone is main character doesnt mean that they are always right and this is common thing in literature. Characters are people and they might misunderstand or lie to themselves and we see situation from their perspective but we shouldnt forget to look from our perspective and accept that our FL can be wrong.

Right and we all know, they are both human (even if fictional), so we should treat them both like that. It is exactly like you said, the main character is seen as special and everyone who seems to be disturbing their happiness is deemed as 'bad'. But it's not like the main character is always in the right because of that, or that the other characters are wrong. And even if one is the right, it's still normal to make mistakes.
It just seems that people like to vent all bad feelings on those fictional characters, which I can understand and relate to, but it just ends in reading some real hate and harsh comments everywhere.
