of all the manhwa i’ve read finally there’s a time where a clearly toxic parent has layers and it’s understandable why their kid is still in contact or even forgives them. SEE KDRAMAS ITS POSSIBLE. oh my god this was so cathartic to finally get this. i literally cried for both of them for the little girl who didn’t understand her mother and her distance as well as for our girls being upset at her mothers apathy. that hug felt like it represented so many eldest daughters and their mothers who’ve dealt with trauma and sadness and it finally be acknowledged. oh this was such a great chapter and then our ml…THE MAN YOU ARE. just being their for her so heartwarming…

and then we get her evil demented ex being as selfish as ever. also the fact that her dad died never celebrated more hope he’s burning in hell bozo no sorry

our fl is highly interested in him because he’s different. whole the black haired male is clearly controlling look at the way he treats his girl he’s got on the side. he’s more then willing to keep her until he’s married possibly even if he is married. what more clear is the girls reaction, it’s not okay with her notice that. she wasn’t happy he said that, she wasn’t happy about him saying he wanted to get married and we also know she saw them before the start of the show…blonde has the right to be confused or even cautious of our girls intentions. he’s confused why she wouldn’t reach out if she cared yet based of what we’ve seen there’s a large possibility she couldn’t because of her mothers control and her fear of her mother’s lack of emotional regulation. so many characters with so many motivations…very interesting

i don’t dislike the ml for what he said to the dad because tbh it’s coming from a place of not truly understanding the WHOLE picture. however he’s completely correct about the father and that’s why i dont mind him being harsh even tho little bro heard that and hes completely innocent. his dad is irresponsible and he needed that harsh talking to, to realize the reason they have to leave is their own fault.

i wonder if the reason her mother is the way she is is a mix of generation trauma and misogyny being learned from one generation to another. we’ve met the grandmother in passing who seems to hate everything the mother does, we haven’t learned if this grandmother was also an in law at some point or if that doesn’t matter at all. there’s a possible reason the mother is so willing to ignore our girl is because of her own failings. she gave her husbands family a son, yet it seems he has no accomplishments nor is he clever as his sister. which goes against societal norms by two of the previous gen’s (the grandmother and the mothers), note even the grandmother despite us (the audience) knowing our FML is very busy and is working hard the grandmother seemed to be critical of her. interesting no? especially for a supposed academic family, when the grandson is lazy. this shows is probably self hatred at a woman who’s accomplished that’s why despite her son doing nothing to earn that apartment or even be doing anything to live there the mother immediately moves him in. or prehaps jealous might be even more suitable word, our FML is doing what her mother can’t and this she resents her for it. she’s the oldest daughter she maybe even resents her birth because maybe if she hadn’t had her she wouldn’t be in this position treated poorly. if only her mother knew of everyone in that house her daughter sees the trauma being done and wants to help her mother. and not realizing her mother has decided to continue the cycle with her only with her brother instead of a husband who she must take care of.
