For real, I actually despise characters too stupid to understand that someone isn't going to change by being NICE to them after they try and kill you and ruin you multiple times

I completely agree, but looking at it from her pov, she has watched every single member of her blood family die, I can imagine not wanting to do it again if it can be avoided

I AM looking at it from her pov from an oldest child where my siblings and I were abused and I was parentified. It's ignorance and stupidity, period.

This is how families work. No matter how much the person hurts you, you can’t just cut them off completely. And I am saying this from experience. My maternal uncle is an alcoholic, who verbally abuses his sisters, violent toward his parents and blames them all for everything wrong in his life, but his family still cares for him, they always go running to help him when he is in trouble.

Her character really isn’t stupid at all. She understands that Alicia will never change but her trauma on watching all her siblings die has obviously had a tremendous impact on her life to the point she believes she shouldn’t be able to accept Vincent’s love. She regrets being one of the only children out of all her siblings to live, so of course she’s going to do whatever it takes to keep her last sister alive whether she’s evil or not.

I beg to differ. That's not how families work. If you want to have peaceful and healthy lifestyles without any trauma and stress, you have to cut people off from your life whether it's family or not. And i mean about toxic, mean, fake and jealous people, not the normal ones lol. Speaking from experience also. If you're not able to choose then that's because of your character. You don't have the strength and will to do it, but that's okay too. You just haven't gotten to that point where you can't take it anymore. It's probably because you only want to see the good in people so you hope they can change in the future and you're waiting on that.

But here, our FL finally understood that her sister would literally kill her only to save herself and still chose to look out for her. Sorry, but i can't accept that and in my eyes she's in fact, as i said, insane.

You guys are absolutely over thinking this, she is in no way shape or form trying to forgive her or better her life or even keep her around, the one and only thing she wants is for HER NOT TO BE DEAD I don’t understand why yall are calling her insane for that

It's quite simple actually. If you cut off someone from your life it's in no way your job to think what will happen to that person. You just let it go, quite literally... like you're not even acquaintances.

omg SAAAME! And all the hate comments because the story is messy... I mean... that's the whole fucking point!? People just refusing to accept that people mess up, grow up, change and better themselves.

Seeing those comments kinda made me understand why every mainstream story is formulaic and BORING. People like to fall aesleep to their picture perfect main characters with character arcs as flat as a 2d pancake.
