So the dead empress was the real jackass. She cheated the emperor with his friend who very much loved her (Johannes) and then later on becomes obsessed with her. She's the reason why Johannes knew that in the future his family will have problems unless he finds someone to protect them. Shuri was that one, cuz he knew from the moment he had a conversation with her how special she was aka illuminating the rare pink rose between the common grass and flowers. It was only a plus that she looked like the woman him and his friends loved. Smh

But that's when he becomes obsessed with her also his ego plays a part since he was a high ranking noble and she was a commoner if i remember correctly. It's not a surprising fact, since he didn't want to tarnish his name i can deal with that. But the way she handled the situation later on and how she said those things to him you can see her boldness and egoistical character (while only being a commoner) Also, since she already shared a kiss with Johannes while being engaged to the king rises the question did she truly loved the king cuz in a moment there it seemed like she and Johannes had mutual feelings but she didn't want to be the only one who sacrifices something.

From what I’ve read so far it seems like the two did have a somewhat of a mutual likeness towards each other and that the girl liked Johanns more so then the others. Only it seems Johanna’s pride and ego got in the way n he excepted to the girl to sacrifice everything while he sat in his comfortable cushion. And instead of that, she also wanted him to put money where his mouth is and actually take some actions and show initiatives instead of just babbling some shit just when she’s about to reach the ultimate position of power. And it seems he’s not even guaranteeing her anything even if she does go through with what he’s asking which is why she asks the impossible from him. The KING meanwhile is unbothered and is willing to stand by her and against the world, and Lvu sees this and chooses him and not the other one who only speaks flimsy words with no action to back it up. It’s because of her boldness and character and not willing to accept but the best for herself that landed her in the position of becoming future empresses. And ykw I kinda love her for it. At first I didn’t like her cuz I thought she was stringing along all three men but after this yess girllll! He clearly met her first and it she even liked him more so then the others and he stilll fumbled ooof

I get that and you do you, but i stand by my comments about her. I hate her, i don't like her face expressions and she kinda seems selfish in my opinion also like how Johannes seems selfish to me but the only difference is that she seems bitchy about it. So yea... i can't change my opinion about her. She's the no.1 villain in my eyes why the "Neusweigh.." family (can't write the family name lol) were always talked about in bad light even before Shuri came into the picture.

It's quite obvious what her POV would be like. Since Johannes was also selfish and was contemplating what should do about Ludovica (since he didn't act fast like the king) she was sad and angry but later on, sis got that bag and became the most powerful woman lmao. She lived proudly but also made everyone have bad opinion about Shuri's family. The only problem is that Johannes made it worse later on by marrying Shuri when he could've arrange the marriage with his son (but again because of his selfishness and ego he made a mistake) He probably knew what would happen to the sons of those 3 families if they meet Shuri. That she'd be the downfall for all of them and Johannes made sure she was a part of the family so that she could protect them instead (since she's smart, rare, strong and unique) That was the point of that chapter and why the author gave as an explanation (at least i think it that way)
Honestly, one of the best revenge stories. I loved how she stayed constant and never changed even tho there was a little hint of hope that her ex wouldn't be the same, it's normal. Great story and i'm so happy that she had her happy ending.
