That's not how being intersex works. Labia majora and the scrotum are analogous structures, so it makes no sense for one to have both.
And if he has functioning testicles (as in semen production) then he can't have ovaries btw, because those analogous too. So if he gets pregnant in future chapters that's another misrepresentation..
This had the potential to be a romance that is inclusive to intersexuals (and it could still have sex scenes because sensuality and oversexualization are not the same!), but instead it's just disrespectful.
The writing in this is soooo bad and the outfits are even worse than what you usually see in comics.
I know this is historical fantasy slop so nothing is accurate, but why are they wearing party city pornified WWII costumes while riding on a great navigations ship? Why is her hair down? Why is she wearing long sleeves with a thigh length skirt? Why is she wearing a skirt AT ALL when she's in the middle of a bunch of sailors who haven't seen a woman in months and when there's a STORM outside? And the combat boots look ridiculous.
Is it too much to ask for artists to research a bit? This is almost as ridiculous and cringy as when westerners draw kimono, hanbok and hanfu incorrectly. When you actually research the historical and practical reasons for why outfits looked a certain way, you don't make this type of mistake.
I know this artist couldn't wrap their head around the idea of having a woman who is supposedly a soldier and sailor wearing pants to protect her legs and keep her hair up so it doesn't get caught on ropes, because that's not hot enough for the porn they're drawing.
This is one of the reasons why I hate "historical" comics, 99% of the time it looks stupid as fuck.
This is trash. The writing is barely passable, the characters are terrible, the plot is boring...
This can't even be enjoyed as porn because it's simply not hot. Even with the censoring I can tell that the artist can't draw dicks right, they are either inverted or have a lump at the base. It looks ridiculous.
I love the art. The thing I love the most is how one can tell the characters are asian. Not only that, but they also have a variety of features but still all look asian. No same face syndrome either. The anatomy is also great.
The story is giving me the creeps and the title gives me the feeling it's going to get even creepier (I think someone is going to get killed and their consciousness put into a robot), but I'm sticking through.
The emperor is still taking the side of a woman that lied about being blind, fooled him, embarrassed him, hasn't grown a bump after months... and probably gave him syphilis if this is in any way realistic. He deserves every punishment in the book!
Who cares about how she might be pregnant? Let her give birth under arrest! Why is she parading around the palace and openly scheming against the actual empress? Why is she allowed to be in charge of his HEALTH? She could be a spy for all they know! Did no one see her pour an entire vial on him?
And let's not forget he previously put the liar in charge of the budget for orphanages, hospitals and defense. His subjects would not only lose respect and openly mock him, they would revolt. And then either the other nobles would have him replaced by a regent/his closest relative, or another noble family would do a coup, or the empire would be reduced to ashes.
I can't get past chapter 15. I tried, I really did, but I can't take this seriously with them calling each other Cabbage and Minicat. Realistically, they could just say "you" or "she/he/they", but the author wanted to run the silly nicknames into the ground.
Y'all have fun though! To each their own, this is just not for me.
This is the same artist as God Jangsan Tiger, although it's not tagged. It's a pretty art style.
I think Yoongun fell first (but didn't realize it) and then proceeded to also fall harder. But he sure has a knack for annoying the shit out of Kyuho, he still needs to be a little more pathetic and get a little more humbled.
Why are their monologues written like smutty fanfiction made by a teenager? And who fucks until dawn every single day for 1 month straight? Those little questionable details aside, this is decent so far.
Yeah I read chapter 1 and was wondering if this deserved my time and Grey Goo's comment solidified my opinion: This whole thing feels very anticlimactic.
The FL's father selling her off is played for jokes, but that doesn't even fit the tone of the story, it's not some absurd comedy like Ranma 1/2, and it's not even funny. It's even explicitly stated that the father of the ML didn't even ask for anything in exchange for the investments but her father still sold her off unprompted.
And indeed, her husband actively shot her down and gave her the cold shoulder without a care about how the mood of the home would be affected by that, or how she would feel being a housewife with no purpose. He only wanted her to stay because she was as convenient as a sex doll.
I get that arranged marriage plots where the characters end up falling in love can be interesting to read as you see the feelings gradually change, but that's a moral flaw that is not going away.
Everyone in this are snakes, this poor woman is surrounded by snakes. I don't care if the interior designer really likes her, it's clear he would have set her up and gotten in the way of her bag so that's a big no. Unfortunately he has pretty privilege so we are going to end up cheering him on before this ends.
And I was right about him having been hired by the husband, that's how big of a snake that cheating scumbag is. He wanted not only to cheat on her, but also to leave her without a single penny. Though I do get the feeling he likes her not in a true love sense, but he feels accomplished when he sees her get jealous. This fool is about to get jealous from seeing her with the man HE hired himself.
I'm on chapter 10. This is better than I predicted, at least for now.
I didn't know what to expect since the rating is kinda low for Mangago standards and there's so little engagement, but the characters are not stereotypical, even though the premise itself is very cliched already.
I've only read up to chapter 4 and I'm already done with this. Not only is the writing dumb, but the FL was going to rape the male lead (who she thought was in a coma) for the sake of bearing an heir, with his mother's approval and all.
Now looking at the other comments, seems like I'm making the right decision by dropping this. Best not to waste my time reading over 50 chapters of trash.
I just want to know what happened to Yeoul. WHERE IS YEOUL? Does the cute little fox just not appear again? That would be so sad! Give me all the spoilers please!
So I'm rereading everything and Somin appeared since the very first chapter, she's a travel club member. On chapter 10 it's said she's secretly dating another club member, so my guess is her lover broke up with her and that's why she looks so sad on chapter 77.
At first I was like "huh? The sunbae doesn't look like the one on the cover"
Now I'm kinda sad bc I liked the sunbae's design better. Still reading though.
This story is not completely bad, but both main characters are badly written, albeit in different ways.
First we have Dabi, who is very sure of her sexuality instead of being a little lamb. The problem though, is that she makes no concessions in the relationship. She influences Junghyun to change his clothes and hairstyle, but the positions never change. He is always giving, she is always receiving. She misunderstans him and fucks up, he forgives her. It's never the other way around.
Some relationships do work like that, but this is not an interesting read to me, I prefer to see development on both main characters.
Then we have Junghyun. It's nice that he's not a rich CEO archetype for a change, and he's the man most women dream of, but there are still issues with him, or should I say it's a lack of issues? First of all, he is madly in love with Dabi and would endure anything to be with her, but the reader never gets to understand WHY he fell so hard that he waited for her for 10 years.
He supposedly rejected all dates before her, so what was it that made him fall so hard? And he says he fell for her in their first date, but during said date she was just nodding along to his rambling. When Dabi's sister asks him what he likes about her, Dabi interrupts him before he can finish his sentence. But seems like it boils down to love at first sight, which is kinda weak for a love that lasted 10 years.
And we get to see Dabi's family and friends, but all of Junghyun's family is dead and he has basically no friends. That just goes out to show how superficial he is as a character. He is the perfect man, that's as far as it goes, and that gets boring.
I recommend this to whoever wants to enjoy some smut, because most of the story is just that. If you removed the sex scenes, this story would end in 20 chapters. I do like some smut, but at one point I really stopped caring and just started skimming so I could finish this.
Sorry, but it's not just the translation that is bad.
They are going into this super dangerous, supposedly well guarded place with no disguise, and one of them is super famous and should be easily recognized. And there's security on the door, yet nobody is seeing them prancing around in that alley? And the club keeps track of the people puking in the alley, even their full name and address and the stage of their maggots, but doesn't realize that the main characters are going there that often and puking nothing?
And how convenient that they get into the security room and there's no one there! Unless the top is actually with the cult and is just luring the bottom while pretending he is investigating, this is not going to cut it for me.
