Okay so from my understanding, main guy has been working for his boss (older lady) who’s a political figure (secretary general) for a while. through out her career she’s pretty much used the mc as a lackey to do her dirty work, bribing/threatening etc. And he very deeply cares about what his boss thinks of him (to the point that even his gf is someone his boss introduced. This boss lady is handling a development project where they go to underdeveloped towns and neighbourhoods and buy off all the property, throw the people out and start building modern and make tons of money (gentrification basically) now for that to happen they need to bulldoze the whole place but the only place standing is the gym ( boxer guy owns it) and the people of the town don’t really bully him into selling because they all go to his illegal boxing games. So now the whole project is at a standstill cause of this one guy and the mc is trying to find a way to convince him to sell. He’s sent into this “shitty” town to cozy up to the people and make sure the project goes smoothly.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to explain. I was able to get close to understanding as the one you provided but not so well explained. If you are caught up, do you mind explaining the last few chapters? Like the woman in the apartment and the realization mc came to after learning the boxer was raised by the officer? I did read the other comments speculating about the abuse so that part is clear, but is the thing mc realized?

The woman in the apartment was the boxers mum (this event took place a while ago) when he was younger. The first redevelopment the uke was sent by his boss to collect the seal from her but we can see she’s visible sick so she fainted when she was about to give it to him
The uke called the ambulance and she was rushed to the hospital, his boss asked him to hand over the seal he picked up when the mum fainted, he did.
Later she passed away in the hospital, the boss did not allow the uke to go for the funeral and he heard she had a kid.
The kid is the boxer he was taken in by the police officer after his mum pass away. In the last chapter the uke confronted him after finding out he was the lady’s child and was taken in by a cop but still turned out a little crazy and the cop is no longer taking care if him
The boxer saying i grew up means the cop was a pedo and when he started growing up the cop also lost interest in him

Thank you very much fro clearing things up for me. I think not seeing the difference in appearance of our MC in the flashback made it difficult for me. Now, I can re-read the story with more clarity.

The Novel about them was first, Egg Benedict, this is why there is not much about them in DTR, as it's a sequel. But I doubt we'll ever get serialization for EB, as... it may left some bittersweet taste and not be pleasant to read for DTR fans... <Spoiler> Nick after having sex with his best friend Kyle, is testing his 'preferences' and go on dates with Ash... not my fav parts honestly, and was hard to read... (but thankfully there was no sex at least)

I think so it is totally inspired by shawshank redemption. The jails, library, gay bullies everything.
