In my opinion, the stupid one is definitely not the uke, but the readers who are calling him stupid. There were 4 thugs, big and strong, one had a knife, and the other three might have too (or they could use anything as a weapon). Uke has just been beaten, drugged, close to unconcious, can't fight back or think clearly. Seme has no weapon and probably isn't good at fighting (he's an art student). The thugs could attack seme from behind, or they could use uke as hostage. Of course, uke could take the risk and called seme for help, uke can expect 4 thugs to scared and run away from one person who's about to faint and the other one who doesn't have weapon :v But he chose the best option he could think of. I know uke is also dumb, but that's because he's sincere and kind. That's why seme fell deeply in love with him.
I'll also explain why uke couldn't explain the misunderstanding to seme. You should understand that there are situations where any explanation is considered a cheap excuse. And uke is in that situation. "I pretended to be a slut to save you from the thugs" (!?) Who would believe that? How could uke say such meaningless and shameless things to seme, when seme looked at uke with such contempt, as if he were looking at something dirty? If you were uke, would you dare say those things to seme?
I think readers should use their brains and hearts when reading stories, not just their eyes. And, you should spend your valuable time reading seriously, instead of reading spoilers.
Why did Jaeon take the medicine? Because he needed to pretend to be an omega.
Why did Jaeon need to pretend to be an omega? Because Inha only sleeps with omega. The story mentioned this several times. Even if it’s an omega Inha dislikes, he still sleeps with them when they’re in heat. Inha doesn’t sleep with beta, and right now he hates Jaeon.
Why did Jaeon want to sleep with Inha? Because he wanted one last memory with him.
Why did Jaeon want that final memory? Because he knew he would never see Inha again. Jaeon was moving to another city. Whether Inha misunderstood him or not, no longer mattered.
Why didn’t Jaeon explain to Inha? Because he was in a situation where explanation was meaningless. There were no witnesses, no evidence, no CCTV. Inha would only think Jaeon was lying and despise him more. Only the thugs could help Jaeon explain, maybe they would! ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Why did Jaeon think Inha might agree? Because Jaeon was so desperate that he deceived himself, clinging to a fragile hope. Jaeon certanly knew he’d be rejected, but his heart still held on. Isn’t that human instinct?
All of Jaeon’s psychological developments and actions are completely reasonable. He chose the way that fit his situation, abilities and personality. It’s ridiculous that people who completely don’t grasp the plot and the character’s psychological development criticize the author, who actually portrayed it very well.
