Hmmm true but also when u have beta x alpha, there is more tension and intense feelings, cause in omegaverse this kind of set up is not common and looked down on, so I feel like it has this unique dynamic, and shows that the traits, gender, whatever don’t matter. It’s just love

the only bxa dynamic that gave me this was the side couple from love is an illusion. but maybe that’s only because the main couple are just not interesting and was aggravating me the whole time. still think that dynamic is bland asf (in the context of omegaverse)

Yeah most of the time the authors don’t actually explore omegaverse for betaxalpha or even alphaxalpha. I’ve only read two of each that genuinely do, and one or two that kinda don’t but at least have the non-normative partner as the bottom (and I think one was even omegaxalpha of those).

I love omegaverse and read so many fanfics that explore all there is to it, but most comics don’t. So in the end anything that doesn’t explore it but has an alternative pairing frames a narrative built around misogyny and homophobia being inversed as the omega (generally most oppressed individuals in the setting) as the normative and respectable choice of partner. It leaves for shallow worldbuilding that doesn’t really hold the suspension of disbelief, because we haven’t been told or shown why these people who are the majority population or the ones with the most power (betas and alphas) face discrimination in either a world

I do love me some toxicity, struggling with masculinity and yearning, but those go equally well in a non omegaverse universe.

The way he treats him is very not obvious love though. MC said they have never gone further than kissing, he feels disrespected and hurt by ML constantly, what’s obvious to us as readers isn’t obvious to him no matter how much ML says he loves MC. Saying words versus his actions is contradictory to MC.

I think you’re confused but ML does not love the MC for being a beta is my point. He only starts to when MC becomes an omega (based on the synopsis that MC’s body changes, not really a spoiler).

You have no literacy skills what so ever. It is implied through his actions not his words that he does love him but thinks MC doesn’t love him back so he pretends not to. It’s very obvious and was especially shown in the last chapter. Are we even reading the same work?

I think you’re hopping onto a different topic, about love in general but my point is more about the ‘changing’ part. My point is that the ML has grown up thinking alpha x omega is the right pairing and so he doesn’t exactly find MC being a beta as appealing, yet he still stays with MC, and once MC becomes an omega—ML becomes more accepting of him. This is from the novel, so it may not be as clear for manhwa readers.

I never said ML doesn’t love him. But again, what’s obvious to us as readers is not obvious to MC. It’s natural to feel less loved when someone like ML looks away from your body, no more than kissing for YEARS (ch 3).

—I think you just misunderstood and that’s okay. I will agree my phrasing was off, but what I meant to say is: ML becomes more ACCEPTING of MC wholeheartedly when MC turns to an omega. His love was already there for MC, but MC became the best pair once he became omega, it fit his view of alpha x omega being the standard.

And no, to be honest it isn’t exactly because he thinks MC doesn’t love him. It makes no sense because MC confessed to ML years prior, that’s how they began dating. It would make no sense for ML to think MC doesn’t love him back.

It makes more sense that MC believes ML doesn’t love him as much as he loves ML.

1. ML casually suggests MC sleep with someone else to control his urges.

2. ML clearly demands him whenever he feels like it (MC said this explicitly, nothing positive about it).

3. They have never gone past kissing for years but ML is apparently fine if MC sleeps with another. He’d rather have MC sleep with someone else than sleep together.

There’s more in novel that supports this rather than ML believing MC doesn’t love him.

All this shows MC that ML doesn’t love him as much. I’m not saying ML doesn’t love him, but personally I would also think he didn’t if my own partner suggested something like that to me. And no intimacy for years…

ML is a weird guy. He suggests this to MC but then says he won’t do it himself, which I agree with you that his actions imply love. My point is that MC isn’t seeing that as we do. That’s it.

I think you’re confused. He doesn’t become more accepting of the MC, he becomes more accepting of his own feelings towards MC and that maybe MC might feel the same for him and that it’s okay to have a sexual relationship.

I didn’t say ‘ONLY loved him as an omega’.

Both can be true in this case. He becomes more accepting of MC because it’s easier to digest that he is an omega and himself an alpha, his views (of alpha and omega being standard) are met with agreement.

Don’t get me wrong, the ML does eventually truly fall for MC. Like you said, he comes to accept his feelings for MC. And besides that, it just leaves a bad impression because he was hating on betas but then MC became omega later, then he also began to accept his feelings for MC.

So that timing is icky to some readers.

Yes, and I wasn’t exactly wrong. I don’t dislike alpha x omega, I dislike the timing. You replied to me yourself, ML accepts his feelings for the MC eventually.

My distaste was towards the timing. Hence why I said: it’s WHEN the alpha loves (more accepting of) MC once he becomes an omega.

I clarify that ML becomes more accepting of MC, it’s easily digestible as he is now omega. So it’s not that ML hated MC, but it was harder for him to get even with the fact that MC wasn’t an omega at the time. It didn’t align with his perspective he grew up with.

Not a big deal, it’s fine. I’m just saying for what it really is. I will say my phrasing was off, but I clarified. And my main point is the timing. And my response was catered to the “he OBVIOUSLY loves mc”, what’s clear to us isn’t clear to MC. I never said ML doesn’t love him though my original reply is bad wording, I apologize.
