My take on it (bearing in mind this is Yaoi land) was that he was just super sexually frustrated, but he doesn't want to move too fast with Amami because he really, like REALLY likes him haha. So ergo, went for the next best thing - a lookie likey - but notice that he refused to kiss him, but he's kissing Amami every chance he gets! The guy sadly, was just a hole.
He hasn't done Amami yet despite having to hold back when they've been doing H stuff together because he really cares for him, his past trauma etc - which is why no one gets it because Hachidori is a natural S and kind of a douche. This is my take on it anyway

I agree! I reread this because I forgot most of it but that is the one thing that always bothered me is they never explained their trauma how they got the way they did.
My interpretation as to why they didnt say anything is because that part of their lives is over the past is the past.
