I know everyone has the right to their own opinions but I feel that some of the readers are hating on other characters, particularly the male characters for either small or unfair reasons. In most stories revolving around 'strong FLs', the male characters are either belittling her or praising her for every little step and supporting her unconditionally regardless of their own needs because she is so flawless and perfect.
This story isn't like that and I LOVE IT for doing that. I know we all want Sienna to be Emperor but that doesn't mean every other character should just roll over for her. Yes, Kuhn supports Dian but he's made a deal long before he met Sienna. Yes, he keeps secrets but he's never tried to take advantage of her for the knowledge she doesn't know and makes it clear when he can't reveal information.
I really like Kuhn because from the first small interaction with Sienna he acknowledges her capability and potential to be a great Emperor.
Dian also recognizes this. (I find it funny how she's always keeping him on his toes. Not even as rivals but just when they are talking and then she does something he never expects.) But I don't agree with the people that say that she is obviously better to would be if not for her Mom.
Dian has been through a lot especially because of the Red King and he deserves to be Emperor just as much as Sienna. He worked his ass off for this. I don't know why we can't be proud of what great leaders they both are and enjoy the rivalry. Where they are not only bringing out the best in each other but also learning from each other. I really loved Sienna's train of thought in the last chapter, because whether she lost or won, she knew that the victor would not have gotten it from schemes but because of their own hard work.
Smart doesn't even begin to define Sienna. Sienna knows it. Kuhn knows it. Dian knows it. Her retainer knows it. Everyone that matters knows it. And best thing shes not the only badass in the story.
Maybe I got a little off track but I don't know if this is 'feminism' leaking into the comments or just bias for the main character. This isn't the story where the FL goes and wipes out every problem perfectly. I said this before but you don't expect Sienna to throw away her dreams for love or guilt for her brother so why would you expect Kuhn and Dian to do the same.
Plus, isn't it about time we got a rival that doesn't hate the MC for no given reason and has competence (If you read enough of these stories you know what I'm talking about ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Would like to add that Sienna looks miserable in her dreams. Sure she can change some stuff and maybe she might be happier being the Emperor, but is not a guarantee.
I don't mind if she rly ends up being the Emperor without Dian dying, but the end game I want is her with Khun so she can learn more about the world and not stay there where backstabers and even her family are trash. And I think Dian is gonna be a good Emperor cause he is not pursuing the title with bad intentions.

totally agree with you. I think both of them will be a great and amazing Emperor in the future. Sienna and Dian both are amazing and good leaders with their own way of doing things so I don't mind who win. but I do want Sienna to be happy in the end and find a lot of people that care about who she is has a person and not her tittle. also I hope she won't end up alone and miserable like she did in the future.
the only character I hate is her father, has a ruler he is great and all but has a parent and father figure he is shitty. I hope Sienna will be a better parent to her future children then her shitty father was to her.
You know I wasn't a fan of Chowon because Heesoo and Dojun are my OTP but reading this I kind of remember the words, 'Women aren't crazy, men you drive them crazy and then act surprise when you finally push them past the breaking point'
It doesn't excuse his actions but I understand Dojun better when he said he felt partially responsible for Chowon. Seeing him with Kyungsoo you see that all Chowon wanted was affection and to feel loved.

Okay, I completely understand why she doesn't want to marry him. But, why does she think of like he's the worse scum in the world. Maybe not the worst because there's that other guy but he says one thing and she thinks it has a double meaning on an entirely different spectrum. I kinda feel bad for him LOL
No, I really get her not wanting to marry. That's completely reasonable but if the guy comes to you willingly and gives some indication that he wants to a part of the child's life and wants to take responsibility I wouldn't expect her to say 'This is not your child' especially when it obviously is. Or when she finds out he's the chairman she assumes he going to harass her or fire her. I guess I'm just a person that believes that when a parent wants to be a part of a child life they shouldn't be denied that right unless they have some negative effect or are a total scum bag

So just started and I really lover our MC, the piggy duke of course! But I'm kind of pissed about all the other characters.
Charlotte who was the closest to the MC but had no idea he was protecting her.
And omg Alicia, the girl goes and complains about him non-stop. Maybe it cause I know how he was but everyone around him complains that he's changing but someone correct me if I'm wrong, that he never really changed he just put up an act for the sake of protecting Charlotte and everyone fell for it. Like even his ex-fiance, father, mother, teachers, headmaster, people you expect to be highly skilled or close enough to him to pick up at least one weird thing.
Or maybe his father knew what he was doing and was upset with that... sigh.
I like our MC and Charlotte but I swear Alicia is getting on my damn nerves. I really hope this doesn't become a harem
I was thinking the same thing. Especially the most recent chapter when Alicia kept saying "oh he must be jealous. Don't talk smack all because he's better than you" I was like wtf. He gave her all valid points yet she invalidated them without a second thought. He got upset and insulted the knight in the heat of the moment and that's what sticks with her? I hope Alicia falls for the MC and he rejects her hard. If anyone's jealous it's her since Tina kissed our piggy
It was so underwhelming. I get that she doesn't need to be forgiven but they didn't even have one good face to face conversation. Then he goes running to his son to not be a shitty mom I guess???
I would have preferred if he had one decent talk with her because he honestly wasn't in the right frame of mind for this meeting even if she was shitty. Dojin should have pushed to arrange a meeting for a later date and then speak to Hyesung about it to see if he was even ready for it.
It just doesn't feel to end on a high note. The father came in a ripped open all the emotions and then trapping himself in the room and then issues with the mother. Sigh, I guessed I would have liked it if Hyesung got the therapy he needed and then end with him finally being able to recover and move on from his past abuse, living happily with his family and most importantly finally accepting and loving himself.
But oh well, it was an okay run. Really stuck around for the second couple. Since the author is done with this I wonder what she'll work on next.
The other issue is people are completely disregarding this woman was an abuse victim. She clearly wasn’t the best mother given the situation but the total lack of consideration of how mentally broken she must of been to make such a decision with no one sympathizing tells me how little most readers actually understand reality. The same readers only chapter before hated Hyesung when he didn’t immediately latch on to the idea of being a parent and more importantly have “maternal” instincts. How do people not understand this could have been the very same situation the mother faced? It boggles me mind how badly this author and her audience understand mental health using it as a means to an end to validate the main couple but not their individual characterization.
THIS. I was a little annoyed with his attitude but after learning about his past its understandable for him to be scared and avoidant and combining that with postpartum depression. And his mom being abused by his father all those years I couldn't imagine whats going on in her head. Part of me thinks she really does feel guilty but we'll never know her story, her struggles, her true feeling for her son, she was just a plot device for the main couple. Reading the comments really like brings to your attention how little people understand mental disorders.
