this is so nothing burger like i dont understand why theres like ten manhwa with this same plot. weak MC gets obsessed with the hotshot popular boy at school and that boy ends up bullying him and being abusive. literally what is the endgame here because theres no character development and it seems like the MC is just going to forgive and forget despite getting literal body parts broken because of this man
i understand the deeper plot points, but the author isnt doing the best job of actually including them. so far its been a back and forth of the same angsty vibe. if the religious trauma is the only part that gives this story depth, then the author should tie it into everything better! i understand letting things build instead of just immediately jumping into deep topics, but its been alot of building for what? i do believe my media literacy is fine, im pretty good at understanding things, but you have to admit theres a surplus of manwha with this highschool bully trope. and it almost always boils down to either religious trauma or internalized homophobia. its not a bad plot point its just overdone at this point.
overdone to you. a lot of people like this trope and its popular for a reason. Whether you think its overdone or not is not objective. give artists the freedom to art. The fact that you want to confine people to your standard of angst or pacing is not a valid critique.
Also, I do feel that you may feel like its dragging because are reading as the updates come, but I realized that the pacing actually feels pretty normal if it is all read through when its complete. As you have the right to your own freedoms, I do feel its unwarranted and quite arrogant when you are reading on a free site against the authors wishes. Regardless, maybe you are a good writer and you can make ur own story.
we're ALL reading on an illegal site. everyone is going to have their critiques and opinions, some may not agree with others, but its almost like youre insinuating that if youre accessing media illegally, you shouldnt be having an opinion on it. i didnt expect anyone to really agree with me or whatever, but llike lets not be harsh when we're all on an illegal website lol
theres a difference between critiquing and being shameless especially when all you got from the story was popular boy bully as if your interpretation is the objective take.
Also your response me pointing out illegal reading shows you really dont have media literacy. I wasnt saying anything about JUST illegal reading. Its the fact m that you are illegally reading yet you feel the need to arrogantly shit on someones work that you arent even paying for. I think people need to realize that art can be genuinely critiqued without name calling and being rude as if you are entitled to it when u cant even respect the author as a creator/laborer.
we're throwing around the phrase media literacy but i would say im pretty good at understanding complex media. i literally said i understand the deeper themes of this story. religious and family trauma, trauma and serious anxiety related to sexuality, i understand all of that. but the way in which the author is about it makes it seem like everything is about this "highschool hierarchy". like that sometimes is the case where the meek and shy kids get bullied and the rich popular kids rise but theres so much focus on that. i never specifically dumbed down THIS particular story to hotshot boy and weak mc or whatever, im just saying alot
of these highschool romance manwha end up becoming that after a while. i was interested in this story in the beginning but the plot is just dragging now. i dont think im shitting on the authors story, i personally love literature and art that involves words and stories, and i understand how much effort goes into this, but whats the point of art existing if we cant even criticize it?
Theres a respect when it comes to critique and feeling obligated to the authors labor for free is not it. I would empathize with you more if you had been paying. The fact that you shamelessly dont even pay but think you can have the audacity to judge is crazy. Thats like me stealing bread from a bakery and complaining to them that its not up to my standards.
Also, art was never created to be critiqued. Art was meant for enjoyment and interacting with inner thought/ emotions of being human and who are you to judge that? Critique is only necessary with consented to. you CAN HAVE your opinion, but you also can keep it to yourself. Putting it on here wont help the author get better and it just ruins the fun for readers who enjoy it.
Also, highschool stories are a known cliche that many love. If you have a problem with the hierarchy aspect that seems “overdone” ill just remind you that its just korean highschool culture. like the hierarchy thing is a norm here unfortunately.
If you dont like the story please drop it. its been many chapters.
OMG WAIT ITS COMING BACK???? I LOVE THIS SM literally its such a comfort read, theres no excessive dark themes, no r4pe, literally just fluff and normal relationship issues!!! people called it boring but i think theyre just used to the crazy plots manhws have these days :/. im so excited to see what the author does
like, what is gonna be the story
here?!? because if he has to like fight to get haebom back, guess what THAT HAPPENED. he literally had a fight with his granpa about this wayyy back in the day. so are we just doing that again for fun?!? did the author get bored?!?!? like why are we dragging this out wtf is the endgame

i honestly think the author should win an award for how many tasteful ass shots they managed to include without them being sexual like rereading this i was like damn everyone has great asses thats crazy
