The initial story doesn't seem too bad, but it does feel kind of rushed. Sara doesn't really question the photographer on why he knows about her connection with Kanon, and the photo being brought up doesn't bring up any skepticism from her on who he is. It makes her feel very passive, just nodding along to every plot point. There's still time to solidify and expand on her character, but she does feel very shallow as a protagonist as of the first two chapters. I won't make any judgements on chapter 2, but I do hope my first impressions are wrong.
What's Komachis deal anyway? Her disregard for other people's lives, and egging Seo on to become more violent, suggests that she's like a green tea bitch sort of character who hates the people around her, but in Ch63, she shows apathy towards the thought of death. Does she show no empathy for others, or does she just think that people's deaths shouldn't be avoided? Her character seems more complex than just being some asshole mean girl who dislikes her classmates.
I really like the villains character designs tbh. They all articulate the personality of the character really well. Diego's in particular is really well done, it doesn't try too hard to be unique but it still leaves a lasting impression. The chapter he appeared in was incredibly uncomfortable even before the horrific implications of what he did to the girls.
Favourite design has to be Hakukos though. The fox design in the hair is too cute to not be.
The disappearance of the brother's ghost has made the manga less of a supernatural horror and more of a psychological horror now. I wonder if the ghost leaving is due to Hijiri moving on from him, thus allowing his spirit to be at rest, or if his ghost is just not tied to Hijiri anymore because he's forgotten about him.
Thanks for the new chapters!
My heart melted when Joe said she missed Anna. Their relationship has come so far, I really hope the misunderstanding doesn't last for too long, it'd be utter hell.
