As an asian myself, I can understand how your image/appearance can matter in the way people interact with you. It can literally have an impact in your social status, and a lot of people in these cultures have prejudices and they don't even try to hide it. One misstep can put everything at risk (there is no second chance given, and there is a whole generalization made due to a single mistake).
In my culture, if I make a mistake, my whole family is prejudiced. So I'm not that shocked that the actions of some students are taken as the general behavior of the whole school, especially if we think about classism, because yes, Kikyo discriminate against Chidori, because of their level of education. It's a fact, unfortunately.
It can seem silly for you, especially if you haven't grown in this type of culture but this is a real thing (even though the resolution is really shojo-like, and in tune with this manga in general)...

Nope, I am too. To me they make absolute sense. I'm just too lazy this time to look up the chapters so I can quote all of them them. Though I can share this one gem from chap. 31 which is one of my fav: "My feet freeze up in front of Rowoon... Even though I managed to handle it well with Jaeon and Seo Jungwon, why do I only get like this on front of Rowoon...?" Then in chap. 32: "At first, I was a bit scared of Rowoon (...) but then I realized he's living his life in his own way (...) and I found him kind of cute. Wait, no, that's not it! Why do I keep having thoughts like this...?!" Our mc knew she liked him since a long time ago, it's just readers forgot because the story then went to focus almost completely on Miss Crazy Purple-Head.
Exactly, for me it was them from the get-go, he is the one who sees her for her (not the sister) and accepts her for that. He questions himself, tries to be better. Maybe he is not crawling himself to her but I think it's better for both of them, because they can be on the same level, hold each other accountable for their actions and become better as a couple. And yeah, he is the one she has feelings for and there is also a sense of understanding, because he is not above her (in position), he is not trying to save her but to support her and also the two of them grew up in that twisted place. So there are things only them can understand...
I was here from chap 8, and already knew this one was a banger and OOOOOOh this is the one, this is a REVENGE PLOT, gooood I love this manga I hope it will be animated ! I will miss it dearly...
At the end of the day, the ones suffering are the ones alive. If Kana needed to slap him, let her. This is her way of grieving, and everybody grieves in their own way; there are no right or wrong ways of grieving. Even if this is disrespect, this is her way of moving on, and even Aqua wouldn't be hurt by it. We are no one to judge her, and we shouldn't anyway.
Seems like we are nearing the end of this wonderful manga... And I don't really know how I feel about that, I was here from the release of the first volume... A wild ride
Because what do you mean y'all can't accept him talking to someone else (yes a girl) for hours before a tournament... Like I can understand it can be complicated for Akane (especially with her past) but her behaviour is the bare minimum, she is not a saint, nor a god for accepting it, she is a good girlfriend (a healthy, non-toxic one in particular)... And this is such a heterosexual way of thinking...
Edit : Seems like I triggered the hive. When I say it's a heterosexual problem, I mean that as a bisexual, this means I can't talk to anybody past a certain hour if I follow your rules. You have a real problem with men talking to women (and vice versa) because of some beliefs about guys and girl friendship. This is PURELY a heterosexual problem. And for those saying he continues talking to the girl after Akane learned about it, she should have been clear about whether she was uncomfortable, but she just asked for time to accept it and adapt herself... Anyway I stand by what I said, this is only a heterosexual problem

Akane has been trying to be understanding of him sooo many times and he just got away with it and he never really think of things from her perspective. Sure he’s in love, then he’s not doing a good job in truly showing it. There’s sooo many misunderstandings that can happen just from talking to a girl all night (even for the tournament) while being taken. Plus akane’s ex literally broke up with her for a girl that he met similarly in this WAY.

Great that u can let ur partner talk to another person all night without you knowing and is nonchalant about it. Akane is uncomfortable but she tried to be understanding of his situation, she is KIND. she doesnt want to make it worse since it could probably ruin their relationship.

OMG, I can't with yall. This is necessary not just for the "toki plot", but for the whole story. It can't just be all lovey dovey, this is not that type of story. It's about bettering yourself, questioning yourself, apologizing but ALSO keep moving forward and changing things. It was the same with Rintaro at the beginning, then Subaru, then the girls, then the boys... So naturally it should come to the heavy part of the society and the adults too. I can understand it can feel stretched out, but it is necessary for the development of the characters. Please, do not just simplify this story as romance, yes it's cute, and they fall in love but it's also about social issues, having prejudices and hurting others (and oneself) because of it. It's the core of Kaoru Hana, it began with that so it's normal that it also takes more space. And it is satisfying to see it unfold. I'm looking forward to the next chapter and their solution to prevent the cycle of hate to continue. Let's learn to be patient guys.
