Istfg... the dejavu feeling while reading this was extreme... you know why? Because it was based on a novel... and ai remember reading that dang novel... mtl'ing it from the chinese raws. Fck I even found the chinese name "全能AI虐渣攻略" and the novel cover is the one I remember... but the novel? Gone. And now even the comic is axed?
Ow my pressure....
But it's also not great... the gods are cuties... and I understand the premise of them loosing power and all... the story would be good enough if the plot was just about restoring the faith, resolving the misunderstanding with the emperor and reforming the temple. Human greed would be enough to justify it without needing to complicate more the plot.. adding something to justify the corruption and be the big bad wolf and and a even higher being that took her there and must not be talked about is just... unnecessary complication.
And I honestly dislike how they mixed korean "shamanism" in it. Especially because mc is faking it instead of it truly being an instrument/medium for her to use the power. And it's even weirder her admitting it being a for of conning people when she knows her mother was the real deal. I'm not fond of mixing eastern and western fantasy in such a forced and ridiculous way. It's the same with them being about food and the people from this fantasy world loving their food out of nowhere... sorry, but food of a completely different culture like this is an aquired taste. So it feels as forced as idk... a holy faith with paladins in a otherwise completely murim/martial arts setting.
I'm not saying it's impossible, I've seen a couple works where they mix it beautifully... but this one and a lot of others is just... too forced to be believable. Back to the comic it bothers me that mc can't decide if the korean shamanism and gods were true and she just hated them or if it was just con.
I can't help but feel that there were a 100 better ways for her to do things and while I get it was for "plot reasons" it makes her feel... quite dumb honestly. It really could be worse... but frankly I don't see enough reason to keep reading it... I'll check if there's a novel and spoilers but more to confirm what I think will be the rest of the plot since it feels... quite predictable.
The art is... relatively pretty... but the dresses, aside the one she used at the party, are not... and that hairdo at the party was ugly too... clothing and style aside... I can't bring myself to like Mc... honestly, she looks like a kid most of time... and behaves like one too... 8th grade syndrome much? Honestly a lot of things make little sense in this... like... things happen in a unrealistic way... in a way that makes the story weird and full of holes... and because of Mc's personality and look, especially compared to her "husband" I can't help but feel that pedo vibe from this comic...
Not to mention how lightly Ml's being assaulted, not once, but twice, as a kid was treated... you don't put something that heavy in a story just to justify someone being "cold" and leave it be and not deal with it. Such a terrible situation being used as a "prop" was terrible. And there's also her whole thieving and abusive family situation... it's just... a lot more that I dislike compared to what I like.
No matter how "sweet" and "healing each other" they try to make this about... it just doesn't cut it for me. To the point I don't even want to looks for spoilers from the novel just to know how things would end.
The only thing I genuinely liked in this was the teacher and it's not enough to motivate me to read it.
Honestly too many to count... and what bother me most is thas both mc and the prince... look like 7 8yo... and like... that's way too young... like who tf would even let a 10yo prince cook??? And honestly? She and the prince look like twins... not to mention how she at times doesn't act her mental age at all...
And I ain't even getting started with the political side that makes no sense. All in all... is one of those to read and enjoy with your brain turned off.. not my tarse to I'm out.
This is one of the few comics I feel could be a bit longer... I'm usually complaining that they are too long... and now I've found one too short... the irony
Honestly I really liked to have a TOP mc. Like, really focused on the top. And with their POV clearly separated. Usually the POVs are very mixed together and the mc and POV focal are the bottom's. I don't really remember another comic where top is the mc and main focus... only some chinese novels.
This isn't really a HE story for me... it could be if it were developed more, but not with that ending. It was interesting to see mc getting insane because while his actions were unacceptable they were also understandable. I can only imagine his level of desperation in that situation. As well as him coming back to his senses, being kinda traumatized by his own actions and trying his best to control himself and compensate for his mistakes without triggering the system. And finally kinda making peace with the situation and trying to move on without involving bottom. But I think is from that point that things could've been extended and more fleshed out. I wish he could've slowly gone back to being himself without system interference instead of getting molded into the unhinged obsessed TOP that just controls himself. By the end he seemed to have become a kind of psychopath...
It's a hood one with a good plot... and I don't even mind the villain being who they are... painful and sad but kinda understandable. I don't really like the fl still being the princess... I just honestly think any of the others would be a better option. I guess that's why they did the side stories in the novel. Personally I'd like to see him building a relationship with someone he trusts enough to feel like a partner for life and I don't feel that from any of the women till now.
Lastly I confess I got a bit bored with the war against the orcs... and I wish they made his growth more obvious. Like, I know he grew after this war... but I can't feel it in his fights?
Overall is a good story but I'll let it sit for some time before picking up again to let it accumulate chapters.

Honestly it's not bad... but it should've already ended. It feels like the main story was over but they decided to continue anyways and just used the pretending to be a fool as excuse to shove more things in the story... even the princess and the knight felt like filler... and a lot of plot holes and incongruencies that I wouldn't mind in a short story but that becomes a bother the longer it gets cuz they keep accumulating.
I'll just pretend they got married and it ended...
