Some people have already said this before, but I want to bring it up again. This comic is like Killing Stalking. They are very similar in the way that they are both NOT a love story. For this comic, it could've been a love story, but Dohoon had to ruin it because he's a selfish, unchanged man. They both had very traumatic childhoods but one wanted to change himself yet the unchanged man doesn't let Yuwon do that. He wants everything to be like before, when it was just Dohoon and Yuwon living together. And while Dohoon can force that physically and financially, it can't be the same like before. Because before, Yuwon was gradually falling for Dohoon, but just needed to grow as an individual to not feel insecure of how poor he was. Also, Dohoon never had much friends, so he lacked social skills. If Dohoon had friends AND went to therapy, he may have realized his feelings for Dohoon. But Dohoon doesn't get that, or rather never wanted to. He wanted Yuwon, so he thought that if he controlled the situation, feelings would naturally follow. The thing I hate the most is that Dohoon thinks he's superior and better than Yuwon. Not appreciating Yuwon for who he is, alongside his flaws and strength. Instead of looking down on him, he could've helped Yuwon and grow along with him. While I don't know how this story will end, I hope Dohoon never gets what he's always wished for, because he never outgrew the past to earn that.
I feel like at this point in plot would've been a good time to see things from Jaekyung's perspective and see his thoughts. Since the mc is still adamant of doing his job, it feels like we're in a stalemate. Also, it's a bit sad to see that while yes, the mc shouldn't be outright having an intense relationship with his client, he doesn't consider or ponder about it at all. I know one of the plot points was that the mc chooses his job over his partner, but I wish he'd learn to balance the two. He doesn't let himself have fun and relax. Right now it feels like the mc's job has taken over his thoughts more than anything else. His fear of failure/adventure has robbed him much of his self identity.
I know we all agree this torture p*rn is getting out of hand...but I wonder. There have been more yaoi torture p*rn comics these days, and less bl manhwas with plot and consensual s*x. I think some yaoi comic creators are venting out their stress and anger towards their ocs. In South Korea, men are known to not respect others, many abusive towards their own family. And with the state of the world, I genuinely believe it's hard to feel in control of yourself. I could be wrong, I mean, these authors could just be making these comics just to goon. But something is telling me this comic is different. This author made this comic different from the rest of their comics, maybe to try something new. But instead of expanding the relationship of the mc and the ml like the other comics, the comic has been solely focused on the torture of the mc. There is plot and we do see the past of mc and ml. But right now, the only relationship that was expanded on was with mc and his "best friend". It just seems crazy to me that the torture p*rn chapters would last this long. Right now the author seems to be taking a break from the ml r*ping the mc, so I hope to see the relationship of the ml and mc to grow. But I feel the comic may be ending soon. Since I've come this far, I'm really only interested in the plot and if the relationship of the mc or ml will develop. I've been scrolling past the s*x scenes bc it's too gruesome for me.
Then explain why it stands out
Don't get me wrong, I love this comic. I'm enjoying it a lot, but it still irks me. While it is basically harem, I feel like the creator is not really committing to the genre. Mc does fall in love with all of them, and she has moments with all of them, but I feel like her one true husband is really Joey. I'm not hating on it, it's more like a plead for more moments with the mc and other love interests.
So for a manga it'd be under 150 ratings and manhwas would be under 200 given that they're more popular. I hear people say a story is underrated basically because it's not talked about but it'd have like 600 ratings so clearly there's some attention given to the story, and even stories with like 300 ratings I still see people acknowledge so I'm try......
i've been reading trash that belongs in the trash can for a long while now (including the raws) and its honestly just getting better and better, from the complexity of the characters, to how the plot comes together and don't even get me started on the cover art of each chapter. its honestly just brilliant. but the thing is, its not talked about eno......
